Horrible news out of Colombia. A chartered plane owned by a small Bolivian airline crashed outside the city of Medellin, carrying 81 people including members of the soccer club Chapecoense de Brazil. They are reporting six people to have survived. They were on their way to Medellin for the final of the Copa Sudamericana against Atletico Nacional.

I have a sick feeling in my stomach waking up for work and seeing that news. Absolutely horrific.

 

That combined with a local tragedy made waking up this morning incredibly difficult. RIP.

 

we're all shocked. we're empty, hopeless faces barely mustering the will to go to school or work on a dark, rainy day. i've never seen such a thick cloud of sadness hanging in the air. being alive honestly feels heavy right now.

 

Nice to hear about the clubs who plan to help out though. PSG, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Torino, etc are all planning to donate. Alongside this, their opponents Atletico Nacional have asked the trophy be awarded to them, plus the plans to loan players and stop them from being relegated for a few seasons.

I cannot imagine what this is like. It's like if I woke up tomorrow and Southampton's team had all just died. So sad.

Saw this just now. The players who stayed behind, one to celebrate his birthday, gathering in the dressing room to wait for information on their friends and colleagues.

 

Horrible horrible news. So incredibly sad.
