That'd be how I'd imagine it'd look, making as little transfers as possible. I don't see an obvious place for Willian, other than (maybe) as wing-back, which would be a huge waste of his talent. I also think they'd need at least two new CBs, and two new CMs.

Zouma and Ivanovic can play CB, although Zouma is dead for the moment. They do need a wing-back and CM to make it work though.

I don't think he'd work alongside Cesc. Not sure he's good any more either.

 

I think the plan was to mold him into a B2B CM as his game matured, kind of like Barkley.

Yeah completely forgot about Zouma! I think Ivanovic is done to be honest, don't see much of a future for him with Chelsea anymore.

 

Oscar has nowhere near the physicality needed to be a B2B player, a stiff breeze would blow him over.

 

Zouma would be grand in the defensive role in the middle three imo. I don't think Chelsea's current centre backs work as a back 3. Apparently they want rid of Azpi too which is bonkers.

 

I also have my doubts that after 15 years playing exclusively in a back 4, John Terry will be able to transition to playing in a back 3/5. When Rio played for QPR in a back 3/5, after years in a back 4, he was absolutely hopeless.
