Has Roy said if it'll be Stones or Cahill with Smalling? I think the international game suites Stones, and Dier sitting right above the two center backs will help.

I think it'll be Cahill, Stones isn't in good form atm and while Cahill is a bit ropey he's better than Stones.

Imo it should be Cahill+1. I don't think Stones / Smalling would be a great partnership.

That'll come back to bite me when we sign Stones for 50m next month.

Earlier in this season I would have said Smalling should be #1 pick, but from what I've seen of him recently his form seems to have dropped so even he isn't necessarily the best choice.

It's weird to think how England used to have so much depth at CB and now we have almost nothing.

I still think Smalling should be #1 because while he's not been on top form, neither Cahill nor Stones have been either I don't think. Cahill/Smalling would be my choice.

Then again I also want England to lose all three matches :chin:

Smalling's form has dropped because he's been partnering a 5 foot tall CDM all season, and because he's knackered. Not worried about a drop off with him.

Rashford will be better, Sturridge can't score from the medical room.

With the size, movement, link up play, finishing, etc. that Rashford has shown in his 20 game sample size; saying he has all the tool to be world class isn't far fetched. It'll of course be years down the road until we start getting close to the finished article.

i've been impressed more with the awareness he's shown, but it's his age + goal rate that is driving the hype. the latter will inevitably go down, the former will inevitably go up. projecting world class striker on a kid who has scored just a bit more than a handful of goals(and maybe one from more than eight yards out) is hasty. the past is littered with enough names of guys who've shone bright and burned out, a good many of them english. he's still not shown himself to be particularly great on the ball as of yet and has one goal to his name that could be construed as top class. let the skill catch up to the hype.

Wimbledon are now in the same league as MK Dons. It'd be so great if Wimbeldon finish higher and do the double over them.

Just wait till Rasher and Zlatan knock in 100 goals each next season. Just you wait.

I agree tho Rashfords probably impressed me most with his footballing brain. He needs to work on his skills on the ball but he's very fast mentally and always seems to want to do the right thing even if it doesn't come off. His link play with Martial last season was great at times.

Imagine have squad depth strong enough you can leave Marco Reus at home. #JustGermanyThings #MaybeSpainToo

Reus missed out through injury, or not being fully fit? Schweinsteiger makes the team though.

He is injured and the doctors are very sceptical whether he will be fully fit for the tournament. Thats why Löw chose to leave him at home.

Podolski still plays footy? And at a level high enough to keep getting Germany call-ups? Feel like I haven't heard his name since... the World Cup?

Schweinsteiger starts team training today and will be fully fit for the first match if everything goes according to plan. Reus has osteitis pubis, which apparently can take quite some time to heal.
