It's going to be interesting to see what happens next. Ashley is a businessman, so he's not going to deal with the club being in the championship. His little cash cow suddenly won't be producing any more.

I don't think our management is quite as bad as Leeds. The squad was allowed to get paper thin and the reaction came too late, but we're financially very stable. The only person we owe money to is Ashley himself.

He's absolutely got to sign up some good footballing people and let them do their job though. Everything which has happened this year reeks of either a board who are incompetent or one being strangled in the background by Ashley.

I worry though, that because we bounced back so easily last time, he'll just assume we'll do it again.

I wonder which players will hang around and who we'll have as manager.

 

Annoyingly, now Newcastle have nothing to play for at the weekend... It was a long shot, but I was slightly, slightly hopeful.

Also, can I ask what the fuck Chris Wilder is doing trying to join Charlton? He's just got Northampton promoted, made himself a legend and they look good for next season. And then he tries to join probably the most disorganized, shambolic and poorly run club in the football league pyramid. Madness.

 

Yeah, i wondered what on earth was up with that. It happens fairly regularly though, doesn't it? You see people taking jobs at the like of Blackpool, Charlton, Leeds etc. All poisoned chalices with little to no chance of success.
