apparently this got moved up to July here too and I am so thrilled about that.

 

So stoked.

 

I forgot about this until I saw a poster for it at the theater today. Had no idea that a release date was set.

Wasn't thrilled with X, still need to watch Pearl but i am so hyped for this

Pearl was so much better than X that it made me actively like X less

 

found them to be pretty even, neither are particularly great or anything

 

it had the opposite effect for me. knowing Pearl's backstory makes her moments in X hit so much harder and the parallels between her dreams and Maxine's really made the whole thing click for me in a way that it didn't when I first saw it.

That said Pearl is still easily the better film but I think that's one of the best of the decade. I'm hoping the new one can at least come close to it.

 

Two very different styles, both great.

 

IMO, X is an entertaining, decent genre flick. Pearl is a masterpiece (obsessed).

 

X just has some really tonally bizarre moments. It's a good film, but Pearl is great and so unique. Agreed with @trevorshmevor. I kind of think Pearl works best as a standalone.

 

Pearl is one of my all time favorites and X would probably hardly even register as a movie I’ve seen if it weren’t for that one kill.

Edit: that sounds harsher than I intended. I enjoyed X, but Pearl is on an entirely different level.

 

I can't wait for this, but I'm definitely expecting it to fall somewhere between the two.

 

It’s gonna be - bare minimum - in the top 3 for me.

Pretty cool, they surprised fans that thought they were seeing X and Pearl with the first screening of this last night.

 

someone posted the first 6 minutes on TikTok a few days ago, and seeing it had me incredibly excited.
