He and Bucky stopped running away from their problems. Sam became Cap and Bucky started owning up to his crimes as the Winter Soldier. They became better friends.

We also got introduced to Isaiah Bradley, who was a former Cap replacement who got done wrong by the government.

Everything else about Zemo, the Power Broker being Sharon, the super soldiers and the people whose homes got displaced due to the Blip is all probably irrelevant to this upcoming film.

 

I remember the show because it was a good show and I will probably do a rewatch of Phase 4 at some point.

 

Since it basically sets up the backstory to 2/3 of the MCU films coming out next year, I am sure Disney+ is going to be pushing it hard soon.

It’s still planned. I don’t think the Midnight Sons movie was ever planned to be released prior to Secret Wars.

 

Continuing to rewatch Daredevil and thinking about how the Netflix shows all feature a different disenfranchised group: the impaired, women, black people, veterans, and rich white male CEOs.

i haven't seen the show or read the comics but i still think iron fist should've been an asian character since its inception

 

As much as I want Danny Rand to be back in the MCU, Disney has the opportunity to do the funniest thing ever.

 

Even though I am a fan of the character and I enjoyed the TV series, I do understand the feeling behind this.

While I think there are worthwhile storylines to be explored with the character the way he is and especially with his unlikely friendship with Luke Cage, I also understand that it's a space that could have been taken by someone of Asian descent that is instead taken up by a white man, and it is absolutely valid to be against that.

 

So, I'm turning over some thoughts in my mind.

The one thing I've kept coming back to when I want to defend the use of Danny Rand is his friendship with Luke Cage and the dichotomy between them, but thinking harder about it, I guess there is no reason you can't keep the same dichotomy if Iron Fist were a rich Asian guy instead of a rich white guy.

They can still have their "socioeconomic differences creating an unlikely friendship" with the bonus of them being able to relate to each other better when they are marginalized, which is something a white Danny Rand can't do.

 

Apparently, there were plans for something like that in Shang-Chi 2—introducing Janora, an Iron Fist from ancient China.

She will still appear in Eyes of Wakanda

 

This is cool and I am totally all for it.

But I also still want Danny back. I need to know what happened to him and Ward!

We also never found out what happened to K'un-Lun!

 

Danny will still probably be used in the Defenders side of the MCU. Janora will be for the more supernatural/Agents of Atlas side of the MCU (if that portion of Shang-Chi 2 is kept in the new draft).
