i meant taika is the worst director alive. not just in the mcu. peyton reed has done better non-mcu stuff than anything taika has done.

I wouldn't say anything he's done is as good as What We Do in the Shadows or Hunt for the Wilderpeople or Ragnarok or Boy.

Worst director alive wouldn't be either of those two people though.

Why is it that Iron Man 2 is much better in rewatches than it was in theaters? And does anything here watch Iron Man 3 as one of their “Christmas films”

I have always felt Iron Man 2 gets unfairly maligned. I thought it was a pretty good look at a man who's trying to prepare himself for death.

Okay? I didn't say that was a good movie because it isn't. But there's absolute garbage directors out there way worse than him.

Outside of Marvel, the Russos are pretty bad ngl

They need others to write for them.

I was curious, so I checked, and the only films they've done that Joe Russo has written are Extraction, The Gray Man, and Extraction 2, which I honestly didn't know existed until now.

Their Marvel films were written by Markus and McFeely, which is why they are among the top. The writers had an idea from the end of Winter Soldier to Endgame in how Bucky would involve a conflict between the Avengers and that conflict would affect their battle with Thanos. It was probably just a page or so, but that line of thought is evident in the way those films flow.

They’re holding it back to be closer to the Armor Wars movie I’d guess. I think I’ve also seen that they plan do some reshoots to touch it up more by then

Yeah but the world will end well before that so just release it

I’m more inclined to believe the reshoots than Marvel preferring it to be released close to Armor Wars. Studios don’t typically sit on a finished project for years just so it will look nice next to another project.

People are already complaining about there being too much time between seeing characters. It’s not like Ironheart is a popular character, so why wouldn’t they want to capitalize on having the show and movie release within 1-2 years of each other? We don’t even have a projected release date for AW at this point, so it could end up being 3-4 years between them if they released it as soon as they could. Miss Marvel and Monica being relatively fresh in people’s minds didn’t exactly help The Marvels get a boost. Imagine if the wait for that was even longer.

It’s not even a finished project. They could still be doing post and not doing crunch for once. Also with AW being a sequel to Ironheart and it being switched to a movie, Ironheart might have to be retooled for what they want to do with AW now. So yeah reshoots are probably the leading factor, but I don’t see why them wanting them closer together should be discounted.

Also how do we know what studios typically do when Marvel is basically the first one to do this at a scale like this?

The only reason I see is if Ironheart isn’t finished and there are reshoots.

The main reason I don’t think they’re shelving it until later is because they spent millions on it. No need to wait on the ROI unless a) not finished b) canceled
