No shade, but if I see a list like this, I just can't stop, process, and memorize what I'm reading. I wish I could

I haven’t seen the rest

 

Do you plan on watching Guardians 3, or is the Marvel Studios machine too off putting for you at the moment? If you like the other two, it’s definitely worth seeing the third, imo. Good ending to the trilogy, even with the Infinity War baggage between 2 & 3.

Can’t wait to see what Gunn brings to Superman and the characters around him.

 

I’m willing to see it but I had other priorities when it was in theaters and I don’t have Disney+, so eventually I’ll maybe check it out. That, the newer Black Panther, and the Raimi Strange are the ones I haven’t seen that I’m most interested in, I don’t think I’ll look into the rest despite Tony Leung and Florence Pugh being in a couple of them. I’m not opposed to checking out Eternals either but 2.5 hr Marvel movies get increasingly tough for me, and I think No Way Home was the last superhero movie of any kind that I’ve seen

 

Strange MoM is rad, imo. It’s still definitely a Marvel Studios flick, but Raimi & Olsen & company made it one of the coolest ones. ‘Twas such a bummer to see so many online MCU stans react poorly to moments where Raimi’s sensibilities shined through, in spite of the enduring love of his Spidey trilogy.

I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts if/when you get around to Wakanda Forever. Lots of very effective bits in there, but the weight of reworking around Boseman’s death and giving Ironheart a back door pilot was… a lot.

 

Top ten and bottom fives are pretty consistent


I think the first two Ant Man movies are too low on most people's lists but that's me lol

 

And yeah, I’m skimming lists, but not a lot to discuss besides the polarizing responses to Guardians 2 and Iron Man 3, which has been debated to death. Most interesting things I’ve had to contribute is me having more of a Dark World soft spot than anyone else ever, and using this as an excuse to talk Marvel with Nathan.

Shout out to Nathan for being maybe the only other person who likes more about Age of Ultron than Infinity War, though I didn’t feel passionate enough about that level of ranking to list it.

 

I really like the Ant-Man films, but I guess I just prefer the higher-stakes, spectacle films more? Which isn't a ding on them for being what they are, it's just the nature of the beast, as it were.

I should also say, at least for me, I find even the worst MCU film to be absolutely watchable and a fun ride. I wouldn’t go out of my way to rewatch The Dark World, but I would still have fun doing it.

Pretty much the bottom 4 are the only ones I wouldn't watch again. These lists really just make everything leading up to Endgame look pretty good. It feels hard for what they're doing now to live up to that

 

I'm just glad I skirted by without people noticing that I put Love and Thunder as my number 2 Thor movie.

 

I feel like the people who are burned out are likely to stay burned out.

I don't really see people getting invested in the ride again who aren't already, but I also think that people forget how disjointed the first phase was when it started, because it was focused on establishing characters and ideas before fully committing to Thanos and the Stones as the destination.

So here we see fragments of ideas like legacy and the Multiverse, with some faint ideas of where we're building with Kang and the Young Avengers, and Thunderbolts, but we're not there yet. We're in the middle with these ideas still coalescing.

Do I think the end product will match or surpass the Infinity Saga? Probably not, but then it was a miracle that the first Saga worked as well as it did, and when something is done once, it's hard for a second time to recapture the same feeling.

I dunno, I'm still just enjoying the ride and not thinking too hard about where it's going.

 

I didn’t like Ultron much but I sure didn’t like Infinity War lol. There were character moments in Ultron though that I remember liking, even if the movie as a whole doesn’t stand up that strongly

 

But then you called attention to it, so clearly you want someone to notice it.

Had the pleasure of being within listening distance this morning to hear a group of guy’s debate and argue with each other about who would win in a 1v1. Tom’s or Tobey’s Spider-Man.

 

Andrew Garfield wasn't part of the conversation because he'd clearly win.

 

Size vs. experience. I'd bet on Tobey.

I think Tobey wins as well, but they brought up good points for each side.

+ organic webbing so he wouldn’t run out like Tom would, plus he could shoot Tom’s web shooter like he did to Andrew’s in NWH
+ he was able to stop a bloodlusted Tom from killing GG
+ he stopped a speeding train with broken brakes

+ took punches from Thanos who is stronger than any villain Tobey faced
+ Spidey sense could detect Norman switch to GG

They brought up other points for each from books but I couldn’t understand half of what they said

 

Why would they fight when they could kiss instead.

 

MTTSH got a lot of things right a few years ago but has become more and more unreliable, I really don't believe it haha.

 

I would like it to be true. I didn’t enjoy MOM but Sam Raimi has a good track other than that, especially in the superhero genre.

 

I don’t believe it, nor do I think he’s the right choice for it as much as I like him
