I don't want to get him in trouble, but he gave me street release date and title...I honestly didn't expect that...I thought he was going to give me a 'sometime in (insert month here)' type of answer with little detail. I asked him when official announcement would be made and he said 'I assume soon' and added that with the date of this album release, most announcements would have been made by now.

He made a comment to me last time about when he had the album saying he'd let me listen to it but didn't want me posting anything online about it.

 

You shouldn't have said anything if you aren't going to tell us!!!!!!!!!

Honestly, I feel like a douche, haha. But like I said, I really expected him to just give me a generic answer. I didn't even ask for the date, I just asked for an update.

 

Ok, soon was a bad choice of words. 'months' is a better answer. (but sooner than I personally expected).

For me this is the album that could turn them from a band that I really love to a greatest of all time. I'm really in love with two of their records (mean everything and virgin) and while I really like simple math and cope I still feel that they have another great record in them.

 

As long as it's better than Cope I think I'll be okay. I think Cope is fine, but I don't think I've returned to it in at least 2 years.

 

Every time I listen to Cope I re-discover how great the songs are, but also re-discover how hard it is to listen to the muddiness

 

I would be willing to make a strong bet that the production is better on its follow up

 

Maybe I'm looking too much into it, but they're doing a showcase for UTA in the UK. I wonder if that means they're looking to get them booked on 'big' tours, at least in the UK.

i just want a single. grizzly bear isn't out til august and they've already released TWO SONGS

i'm impatient and entitled and i WANT IT NOW

 

Something tells me this record doesn't lend itself to 'singles', I know that doesn't make sense at all given how many bands release singles from concept albums.

But seeing as Andy approached it entirely as a concept record, maybe there aren't many songs that can be called traditional 'singles'.

But they also shot a video with The Daniels, and they should be finishing up the post-production shortly.
