Saw MO open up for BN in 2007 and honestly don’t even remember it. It was during March Madness and my buddy and I were mostly back at the bar watching bball games until BN went on.

Then when they opened up for BN again in 2009 I made it a point to catch them. I remember kind of liking some of what I heard prior to the show but wasn’t in love or anything but wanted to check them out. They blew me away that night. Next day I purchased Virgin and METN and then ended up seeing MO like 5x in the next two years.

Got into Bad Books right away in 2010 and didn’t catch onto RAGC until 2011. But immediately fell in love with RAGC.

Virgin had major hype on AP, but I never really was into it. But when the rollout for METN started I gave a listen to the singles and was immediately on board

I heard “I Can Barely Breathe” on some random Paste Magazine CD sampler, called in sick to work so I could drive to Best Buy and buy ILAV before they closed, and never looked back.

An inconsequential shift as the continents drift.

I found The Dear Hunter and Manchester on the same damn day, in high school. Pretty damn good day

Randomly found "The Bitter Suite I and II" on YouTube, had never heard anything like it and it blew my mind. "I've Got Friends" was in the suggestions so I clicked that, was blown away for the second time that day. Both bands have been among my all-timers since, but MO especially have just been there for every big change in my life

I remember ESPN ranked METN the No. 1 album of 2009. I think that was the only time I ever recall ESPN ranking albums.

This is wild to me, but I don’t really remember my initial exposure to them. It was somewhere between virgin and metn. I just feel like they’ve always been a part of my life lol

I believe it was Girl Casey on AP being obsessed with them. Right before or just after ILAVLAC dropped. She got like half of AP hooked

The 2007-2009 period of this band was so exciting for me, as they were definitely the first ‘small’ band I was ever obsessed with. Brand New were my favorite band at that point, but they were still playing small theaters at that point. Certainly graduated out of the ‘small band’ status by 05-06.

To see my NEW favorite band play a ‘bar’ or a 300 cap venue, that was next level cool for a 15 year old kid. I couldn’t wrap my head around actually being able to talk to and meet these dudes. Everything was so new to me. It was the coolest shit to grow up and grow with these dudes and the band.

I would go to my local Books A Million every month to scope out music magazines and almost always picked up new issues of Alternative Press. I read a review of this band called Manchester Orcheatra who got a 5 star rating on their album “Mean Everything to Nothing” back in my freshman year of college in ‘09 and decided to buy it on iTunes.

And nothing was the same from then.

    RIP Supporter

Friends took me to see Colour Revolt (pretty shortly before CR opened the 06 BN tour I believe) and hyped up the opening band so much the entire ride to the show but we ended up missing them. It was MO. I don’t think Virgin was even out yet.

Went to the record store the day TDAG came out and happened to see they had a copy of ILAVLAC there and thought to myself “hey I was supposed to see them” so I grabbed it too. Remained my favorite from them ever since.

  12. Saw them mentioned (don’t recall if it was a headline or a forum thread) on AP and searched for them on YouTube. Pride was the first song I heard, which totally blew my mind. I’ve Got Friends and Where Have You Been came next, and I haven’t looked back since.

My sister initially introduced me to MO, took me to see them play in Orlando when METN came out. Thought they were fine at the time. Flash forward a couple of years and I walked into a local CD shop and came across Hope, bought the album on a whim, and that got them to click for me. Had to go back and catch up and have been a fan since that.

    I do not exist.

I discovered Manchester Orchestra as they were headlining a show I went to in Nottingham, UK. It’s still in my top three shows. I was there to see Anathallo but had checked out MO due to them headlining and fell in love with the songs on MySpace (of course). I knew the words by the time they played. Both bands were breathtaking.

    It's all hell.

I saw MO support Biffy Clyro in Nov'09 and they blew me away with how massive they sounded and their dynamics control (I still think they're the best band in the world when it comes to this). I then bought ILAV and METN and fell head over heels in love with Andy and da boyz.
