Does all the weird variants slow down the vinyl making process vs continuing to press in standard vinyl black (as in a manufacturing sense)?

It’s annoying to think bands delay releases because of vinyl processing dates. I get why. But it’s annoying as a not vinyl obsessed collector. I get the variant thing is cool looking too and should exist.

Yes, it takes longer. But that’s not exactly why delays are happening right now.

Saw this last night immediately after it was posted and didn't even hesitate. Portland almost never gets double night shows, and Revolution Hall is a small venue so this should be amazing.

I enjoy how different threads have different experts/insiders or (nice) super fans. ManchesterOrchestr8 getting some acknowledgment in the AGO thread.

now that this has had sufficient time to settle, I'm confident in saying that I think ABMTTS is a million miles better than MMOG (see what I did there?)

This is not really a knock on MMOG, I think its a really good album, but ABMTTS is just pure brilliance.

    Just one guy's opinion

I like MMOG way more than ABMTTS.

Both exist. We are lucky. Id still say METN is my favourite.

I like this album, but I really did not find myself going back to it much at all aside from its initial release. I think there's a lot of good songs on here, but not many that stand out to me as great and I am not a fan of the album's pacing overall. Definitely prefer ABMTTS to this, but I don't find myself listening to that album, or this band, much these days.

I was really impressed by both of the last two Manchester Orchestra albums though I also think their 2017 has a slight edge. Also, when I saw them play their (what I think at least) biggest headlining show in the US at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC this past fall, the majority of the setlist leaned on those last two albums. Not many bands who've been around for 15 + years from our scene will play a show and have the majority of the set be from their two most recent releases.

When I first heard Telepath, my first thought was WTF why couldn't this song have existed when I got married 8 years ago?

This never hit the level that Black Mile did for me, but it was still my album of the year and I adore it. Black Mile is an all-timer for me, though, not just from MO, but in general. I never really expected it to live up to that.

I like Black Mile better because it leans heavier and is aligned with my usual taste in music more. This was still amazing, and I completely understand people liking it more than Black Mile. Two sides to the same coin really.
