i need to hear this a lot more before ranking but it feels middle of the pack, which is still good

    Motel. Money. Murder. Madness.

I’m prepared to say it’s a push with BM as the BEST MO record.

    But it’s not MY favorite.

    those are two different distinctions.

Listened once through and enjoyed it but METN is still my favorite MO and I miss that sound.

I don't really know anything about album production, but would a remix/remaster address a lot of the issues many people have with Cope...? The album kicks ass but it does sound kinda flat and samey the whole way through.

Just threw in Cope, don’t think I ever gave it a proper listen and this production sucks.

Like these songs are legit but it sounds like I’m listening to it underwater or something

Whenever I say something like that, there's an asterisk the size of the Moon saying "Subjective and likely to change".

One of the worst moments on Cope for me is the intro of Every Stone. It’s among the best songs on the record, but when the full band kicks in, you can literally hear the drums receding into the background

Maybe I’m tone deaf or just deaf but I don’t think I’ve ever once listened to something and noticed a production issue with it so I guess lucky me lol. The closest I’ve ever gotten is the vocals being distant as fuck on a Wonder Years album and not being able to hear Aaron on that Paramore song.

They fixed your brain when you were young.

Currently have listened 5 times. Really liking it. I'm not sure I'm seeing it surpassing Black Mile though. However, even though I already was in love with that record, seeing them play a lot of songs off it for that tour, made it a lot more special for me. So I think I will hold off on my final judgment until eventually getting to see a lot of these songs live.

I’m not usually an audiophile in any sense of the word but some albums are unusually egregious. Cope is one of them.

id imagine they’d have to re-record it. it’s not like they mixed and mastered it themselves.

I'm listening to the new album from Beachy Head and it sounds so fucking much like TMMoG that I thought I was going crazy for a second.

I don’t think I’ll ever stop supporting Manchester for giving us METN, but boy these last two records are not for me. Liking this more than Black Mile, though.
    I’ll take Cope over either.
