holy shit this song Is absolutely sublime. Melodically it builds and fades exactly when my ears want it to, vocally Andy is as good as ever, and lyrically my god, could these guys hook me anymore than they have with what seems to be an ominous love(?) story about coal miners?

I'm so excited for this record

 

kinda hit me this morning that this band is pretty much just hull and mcdowell now. crazy stuff. that new write up was great. thanks @Jason Tate

the song has grown on me

 

The Moth, Lead SD , The Wolf, The Maze, and The Silence are favorites but the whole thing is just at another level - it's incredibly immersive

 

Do you think some of the songs you listened can stand up on their own in a random mix or solo play or do you believe they need to be a part of the album to really have an effect?

 

Based off of what lol... like tim is very present on drums here and andy prince is an incredible bassist

 

Remember "The Prince" theme song from the Magic Moments with Manchester Orchestra videos? Amazing.

 

This band was already in my top 5 all time... but wondering if this album jumps them ahead of brand new and thrice or at least puts them in that conversation

 

I've watched those videos more than I care to admit... especially andys solo "cope" "all that I really wanted" and "never really been another way out"

 

I think I might like Manchester more than BN just based on the sheer number of songs I like. But brand new has two front-to-back "perfect" (in quotations because I lack a better term) albums where MO always seems to have a few duds on their albums.

 

There is a dud on metn or lavlac?

Also don't want a conversation comparing Manchester to brand new ha. I definitely meant for me personally and I know you were comparing the personal comparison as well but we may open the flood gates hahah
