"take the time to terrify the throne"

That's the background voice at the end of The Alien

If you guys haven't checked it out yet. Transform by Gobotron (Robert McDowell) is a fantastic one dimensional album. Great commute tunes

So this may be pretty personal, but as someone who has a little brother (half brother) who has been calling me crying because my mom and his dad are getting a divorce....this album really fucking burns deep sometimes. There really is so much damage and baggage and shit that gets dumped down on the kids to no fault of their own.

My stepdad had an awful abusive childhood with no true father figure besides an angry drunk stepdad and his mom died when he was 17. He was paying the bills by 16 and just had to stick his head down until I guess he finally cracked this year after shouldering all the family responsibility.

I'm sure I don't have to explain all the significance between The Gold to The Silence to what have you...but it really just builds up my existential dread and worry about my future family and what my kids will have to deal with and go through. Round 2 of divorce doesn't help to instill any sort of confidence in relationships.

I just hope that I'm able to learn from it all and "hold them above the misery" if you will.

Music has really been such a source of emotional shelter and storage for me since I had a bad break up a few years back and it seems to continue as I keep aging.

Thank you for sharing this. I'm glad this album can be some kind of solace for you. I don't know where I'd be without music. Actually, I do, and thank god music was there to keep me from it.

thanks for sharing Kyle, glad this album was able to help you with what you are going through. Music is such great therapy. I've tried to walk away from music as a career a few times but it always pulls me back in some way, shape or form.

Man, I'm sorry you've had to go through that and your family. I immediately thought of the "Let me hold you above all the misery" line when I started reading. That line, dark as it is, gives me so much hope in regards to starting a family despite my shaky past.

Andy freakin killed it last night, he hit the note on the grocery so clean it’s insane. Andy prince also killed it, he is such an important part of this band.. but he’s replaceable. Their stage presence was very good last night, it’s like they all know they have to step it up now that chris is gone.
