The humor of this band is honestly one of the biggest reasons I love them. One of my favorite moments is way back in 2014 on their IG they posted like 9 songs that they did in the middle of the night acapella where they took requests. From Metallica to Aerosmith to The Beatles to Whitney Houston to Papa Roach, you name it.

THIS IS NOT A DRILL. On Andy Prince's instagram story he just played the melody on piano for The Silence.

I am expecting Gold, Alien, Sunshine, Grocery, Wolf(maybe), Parts, Silence now at this point. This tour they seem like they're going to really go for the album heavy show.

I'd be happy with the whole album.

It's far and away my favorite album from them, and I already enjoy their whole discography.

 

I put it on this morning at work, and so far been through it three times. I don't think any album comes close this year

 

First time through it today, since Science Fiction dropped, and frick I really can't decide between the two and I might genuinely have to say at the end of the year that both are my number 1.

I'm picking this album because its such a joy to listen to front to back. Science Fiction is incredible and all and a worth AOTY but this, this just gets me

 

Anything different here? I'm just tired of hearing acoustic versions of the same two songs

 

It's certainly difficult. I think I'm picking brand new bc I connect with it lyrically just a little but more. I love the story of the Manchester record but sometimes a concept album like that can be harder to connect with. The lyrics are incredible and andy does a great job at putting you in the head of the characters for sure though

 

i assume you mean the gold and the alien? if so, the parts gets played here. sorry if a ton of sessions have been posted though, i mostly have just listened to the album and haven't payed attention to live stuff they've been playing and this sounded good. there's a small interview at the end

 

Okay yea, it's been all the gold and the alien! Haha I was hoping after the album came out they would throw another song in the mix. I'll still probably check this out

I'm taking this over Science Fiction in a heartbeat. That said, this is only like my #6 or so right now.

 

Can't decide whether or not it's tasteless to depict the bottom half of Texas underwater. At least it's for a good cause!

Yeah. In my opinion Black Mile is better than SF and neither are these instant classic, genre defining, game changing records so many seem to think so. Love them both though!

this record is fucking incredible. i never thought i would rank it over simple math or ilav but its getting there.

 

I have science fiction above this and you all know how much I love this one.
