We really need to be couple friends. Haha Manchester is my wife's favorite band. We have only been listening to this and Science Fiction pretty much

 

i had hella hesitation about what i was going to think about this record. after they dropped the alien and the gold i had pretty much given up on it. it whirled over me though and has grown a ton over the last month. definitely in my top 5 this year. still don't know where its gonna rank in their discog but that doesn't really matter. i'm going to have a lot of fond memories of riding my bike on my local river trail getting lost in this.

 

This would still be my AOTY but then a certain other album came out. Still enjoying it a ton tho. I think it's their finest hour so far.

 

The Gold is still a perfect song.

 

My wife is obsessed with this album too. She hasn't really gotten into Science Fiction yet, but she's warming up to it since it's all my daughter wants to listen to in the car.
There's nothing more adorable than hearing a 2 year old yell from the backseat "listen Bran New Pease!"

also holy shit never heard this "opposite sides". I know Andy made a joke tweet about having two songs called the same thing

 

There's one thing this record isn't good for. Hangover music.


Although I think to be fair, no music is.

Okay this is getting weird

 

I shower her bad books bc of kevin devine but she was like "I like this other singer more" so she started listening to Manchester and then we went to a Manchester kevin devine show and the rest is history.

 

I also want to chime in and say that my wife's favorite band is MO. She wasn't familiar with them prior to seeing them in 2014. Seeing them on that tour with KDev and Balance & Composure blew her mind (mine as well) and instantly made her a huge fan.

Since then, we've driven to Nashville to see them in a cave, gone down to KC for a one-off festival appearance, and saw them open for Brand New a couple years ago. We're set to see them again next month and she (we) couldn't be more excited.

 

I can't wait to see these songs live
