This rules. Guess I’m gonna go listen to Historian and bg now.

Waiting for someone with an advance of this to say how phenomenal this is and really boost my hype through the roof (even though it's nearly there)

This was already about my most anticipated of 2021, but even more so now.

Song and production both great, as has been mentioned.

New song rules. Of the boygenius group she's the one I've listened to the least, so I'll be changing that with this album cycle.

Julien is probably the one that is the “least” for me.

For my money none of them have written a better song than “Night Shift”.

Night Shift is still one of the best songs of the last few years

Lucy is definitely the least popular of boygenius on here but hopefully this album changes that! Historian is still such a great record (and No Burden is still great too!)

  15. Lucy’s always been my favorite boy tbh. Punisher gave her discog a run for its money, but I’ve got a strong feeling Home Video will put her back out of arm’s reach

  17. Hahah. “Favorite genius” just doesn’t roll off the tongue the same!

lucy is pretty easily the most “talented” of the group but i get why her music is less well known

They all scratch a different itch for me. I have a stronger emotional connection to Julien and Phoebe, but Lucy is a better “every day” artist in the sense that I can put her music on pretty whenever and be satisfied

I will be okay. everything Supporter

really curious how you mean this

I think all three are equally talented in their own ways, that’s why boygenius worked so well

her voice has the most range objectively, and then personally i feel like instrumentally and melodically she has more depth as a songwriter. it’s not shade to the other two.

I think I agree with that

At the very least, she’s the most dynamic. I don’t know if that necessarily means the most talented, but I get what you’re saying and I agree.

  25. Wardrobe detail on that Colbert performance is fresh. Love the simple blue on black with Lucy reversing it — short of skeleton suits you really don’t get the matching outfit thing a whole lot in this corner of indie rock. Between that and her first first colored vinyl pressings it would be cool to see her foster an “era” out of this cycle with the color blue
