I hate that area so much I can't honestly tell you it'll be better. Cause it won't be cold but then it'll be March and March in North Florida is the fucking worst. Then it's summer. But at least it'll be October eventually.

I have made a large effort to do things like call my grandmother, make plans with family, and try to see those rarer loved ones every few months over the last few. it’s been rewarding but very tiring. I have plans with family 3 out of the next 5 weekends, one of which is a lunch with an uncle who once had custody of me and we had about the biggest falling out possible.

it feels good to be in a place where I can send that email and make those plans and work towards having family be a larger part of my life..... but fuck im exhausted

 

Not quite to this scale but I'm trying to do the same thing this year and the exhausting nature of it makes me want to die

it’s insane! I love them, they love me, but I still can’t quite shake the feeling of them judging me even though I know better. Every cousin of mine is younger than me and drastically more successful, easy to feel insecure

Understandable for sure, that's always hard to see and have those feelings.

For me, my mother and I haven't had a great relationship for the past 2 years (since Ryker was born). With the 2nd one on the way I'm trying to let her have a relationship with them and us. I'm not good about expressing my feelings and I'm trying to work on that and hoping that'll help things.
