Search the thread, they've been posted a few pages back. You'll definitely be able to tell the difference, even on bad speakers. It's that different. Plus they're different takes.

Some songs have grown on me like "Elephant", "Reluctantly Dead", "Who You Are Not", and "Foreign Cab Rides"- but again they are all half baked aside from maybe FCR ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Foreign Cab Rides is excellent! I like some details about the opener too, and the verse of WYAN are kinda cool in an alternative way. Aside from that... maybe Reluctantly Dead, A Weak Ago, and the single aren't bad.

Given this band may be ending, can we just talk about Fake History instead? IITD discussion is bumming me out.

Opening 4 songs knock it out of the park, then Muther and Homeless Jazz and the closer do work too

Fake History was an absolute banger. Pretty sure it was my AOTY.

I still think TBB is a good deal better, so glad they took that Renegade 86 groove style and expounded upon it in a huge way and with a more consistent approach. Not to deny the greatness of FH, that's a behemoth too

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

It's sad to think how truly incredible TBB could've been if it had competent production done on it

I agree. I feel like the songs are overall stronger on TBB. Only thing that holds that record back is the production.

The Dope Beat is one of my all time favorites from these guys. Top 5 for sure.

I don't even care about the production because every time I listen to it, I blast the hell out of it and can't make anything out anyway. Drums and bass come out on top and I think that's a cool sound. FH is so guitar centric that it gets kinda shrill when I dime it.

Yeah I just imagine how great TBB would have been with better production. Like Empty Elvis still slays, but would have been 10x bigger.

the only "band tattoo" i have and probably will ever get.

A LOT OF WORDS COMING THROUGH BUT letlive were undoubtably the most exciting and invigorating band for a few years, and brought me a lot of joy and happiness. despite iitd being awful i'll always cherish the really cool memories from FH. my favorite band then with out a doubt. seeing them totally steal the show away from the likes of underoath, pierce the veil, and enter shikari, being the only one who knew the words to their songs at FIR and basically having a private show where jason kept pointing at me and talked to me for a while after the show. getting my girlfriend into the band whose previous experience with rock music had been limited to the beatles, taking her to her first real show on that headliner with This Is Hell and HRVRD. seeing them play warped tour and kids showing up and having a great time.

i mean fuck, i'm sure everyone can relate and has similar stories considering how much time he put into it, but i don't think there were many singers willing to just talk after shows. when you grow up going to warped tour and having singers slightly out of reach or relegated to signings i think some people build up an idea that these people aren't approachable. for a lot of my friends who grew up with scene stuff, being able to have a real conversation with a singer in the band was such a crazy thing, breaking down the barriers and eventually pushing them into the world of hardcore punk. and none of this is even bringing up the album, which put together so many different cool sounds and genres, you could just hear the hunger and drive from the band playing.

that performance above encapsulates all of that. just amazing from front to back, literal lightning in a bottle

Did the lead guitarist who quit after TBB ever move onto another project?

This was right around the time I was getting into them. Hadn't been to a show yet, but I knew that intensity was there from videos like this. So incredible.

    set our hearts ablaze

I am not a fan at all of the new album, it just never clicked for me. But letlive has always been so important to me too and I love hearing other fans' stories.

I've seen them in a few venues in LA and every show has been fantastic, absolutely thrilling, and cathartic. Seeing TBB album release show was so special and every moment was memorable. They brought out a high school choir and string instrumentalists to help with some of the songs.

Also I saw them open for Falling In Reverse (uuuugh the only defense I have is that the ticket was free through credit card rewards and I absolutely left before FIR). Jason was hanging around the venue after their set and he not only took time to talk deeply with me about their music (and what it means go me) but gave me literally one of the best hugs I've had in my life AND even told his family/friends to wait a minute so that he could finish his conversation with me.

I just have a lot of feelings. I'm not sure if a break up tour is actually happening but man I'll try anything to see their next show, no matter what.

First time I saw them was in Jan 2011 in Corpus Christi with Chiodos. My friend and I met Jason before the show and he dedicated Day 54 to us. Nobody knew who they were but you could tell everyone was blown away during their set.

The same friend and I saw them in May of that year in Houston. We walked up to the venue parking lot and before we even said anything, Jason recognized us and said he remembered us from Corpus Christi. That made our year. They only played to about 20 people max that night. But they still played with everything they had.

They toured so much and never seemed to have any down time. I've seen them several more times after that but they toured so often it was difficult to justify spending $40+ to hear them open for bands I didn't care to see. TBB is decent and I barely even listened to the new one. I will always have respect for them as people and musicians though. I will definitely hit up their farewell tour if that turns out to be true. I just don't know that they could ever capture what Fake History provided. But I will always be a letlive fan.
