I should listen to this. I haven't really loved a Chvrches album since Every Open Eye but I'll still check this out.

I'm a little surprised, but I LOVE this album. I thought it'd be some good tracks, some forgettable stuff, good for her okay let's get back to CHVRCHES.

But there's no bad track, and it's tight as hell - like 10 of the songs are under 3 minutes.

her post the other day about her "old band" having code names for shitty dudes they encounter on tour made me sad but someone pointed out she probably meant blue sky archive and not chvrches.

Go listen to Screen Violence also because it’s their/her best album full stop. Speaking as someone who did not enjoy basically any of their work after the debut despite trying.

I unfortunately didn’t enjoy Screen Violence besides Lullabies and Better If You Don’t.

Just gave this a 2nd listen and this is doing nothing at all for me, which is unfortunate considering how much I love Chvrches. If she were a complete stranger I wouldn’t have even finished the first listen lol

my partner wasn't familiar with CHVRCHES until i played Screen Violence front to back. he absolutely loves it and nothing else in their discography has had the same effect on him (a couple songs from Lauren's album got close). SV is definitely their best as a band though.

Violent Delights - How Not To Drown - Final Girl is one of my absolute favorite 3-song runs of the last decade

even the bonus tracks on that album are fantastic. Killer would've been a great addition to the base album.

them playing Screaming on a whim after someone requested it in the crowd in atlanta the first time i ever saw them is one of my favorite concert moments of the last few years.

I probs need to return to SV then, as it's been a while. but yeah, those first two albums do something special for me and bring an aggressive energy that I haven't really felt from them since. would love to be proven wrong though

    I do not exist.

It really is great. I find it hard to include albums from the last month or so of the year as I haven’t listened long enough to fully digest.

I don't know if it's a coincidence or if Lauren's got a fetish for smashing her face onto horizontal surfaces, but the center picture for this album and for Screen Violence both have her doing so.
