The difference I see is in the way it comes across. @cshadows2887 may be critical of something but he understands that's HIS opinion not everyone's. You don't come across that way to me. It's all about tact.

The point being that you come across like your opinion is the ONLY opinion and all others are wrong.

I criticize movies, sure. I try not to criticize the people watching the movies. And if I ever fail at that, I hope people speak up and tell me

  5. Oh yeah, forgot to post: I watched Nightcrawler a couple weeks ago. Was good. Wish I was more familiar with LA. I like that it's both a character study and a critique of TV news and journalism.

Ulysses Gaze was the first film to really floor me in a few months.

I LOOOOOOVE Landscape in the Mist. Definitely need to see more of his stuff.

I wish I could find The Traveling Players.

Music, Gaming, Movies and Guys = Life

    The Untouchables - 9/10

Still my favorite post-Bond film from Connery plus it is easily one of the best gangster films.

Kubo and the Two Strings - 9/10

It isn't often that I go to the cinema to watch an animated film but when I do I make sure it is likely to be a special one and this brilliant stop motion film didn't disappoint. With stunning visuals and an amazing score this is visually and musically brilliant. The cast of voice actors is also really good with the tones of humor and sadness being mixed brilliantly which is helped by their fantastic performances. The action is also really well done, something I rarely can say about an animated film. On the whole a solid affair that may stumble a couple of times in terms of the narrative but they are minor complaints in a sea of brilliance.

I'll have to check it out. This was my first of his. Waiting on Eternity and a Day to show up from my library now.

One of my buddies whose opinion I trust said Eternity was in the middle of what he'd seen from Theo in terms of quality. So it should be pretty good.

Ashes and Diamonds is my favorite, but Man of Iron is quite good too. Just saw his latest a month ago at its TIFF premiere too.

I really want to see Ashes and Diamonds. And probably Kanal, too. Hopefully TCM has a tribute night for him soon so I can DVR them.

I know Ashes and Diamonds is Hulu, because that's where I watched. At least until Criterion moves everything over to Film Struck.

One of these years I might have to try and budget for a Hulu account. The whole Criterion collection just sitting there is so tempting.

FY(and everyone else in the thread)I, Faraci just got called out yesterday for some pretty terrible stuff. Quoting you just because I just read about it and remembered that you had mentioned him as a decent critic. I've only heard about him before, never read any of his stuff.

Followed him for about a week before realizing what a mistake that was. These accusations are totally unsurprising.
