Castlvania (Netflix) season two - 9.5/10.
Season one was pretty much the prologue and this season kicks off a war. Dracula is a surprisingly well written villain. The voice acting is super good and damn, is the animation clean or what. I added episode seven to the list on my phone of favorite tv episodes. The action was so well choreographed and the music gave me goosebumps at the end. Can’t wait to continue the next seasons!

  4. WNUF Halloween Special - 8.5/10
An all-time great hangout movie and one of my favorites to throw on with friends, especially if they haven't seen it. They can pay attention as much or as little as they want and still catch the vibe. Just a completely unique vision and successful way to capture the sinister humor and fun behind the holiday.

you know I got ragged on by the nfl thread for going to the movies "a lot" (like twice a week at most) but Aaron is really out here watching movies man

    putting up numbers

  6. Remember back on AP when people would log their movie lists and I would see people putting up numbers like 400 films a year and I would max out at like 50 lol

I logged 155 last year which was definitely the most I've ever done

my pace this year is way behind (only 18 so far)

    Dune: Part Two. 9.5/10

Visually it's the best cinematic experience I've had since Top Gun Maverick. The level of scope and scale made everything feel massive. The sound, the vibration, the color palettes used for different planets. All brilliantly handled. The actors all brought their A game. Timothee after drinking the water of life had such a powerful and effective voice it made me feel nervous with what he was going to say. My only complaint is that I felt the movie had a lot of story and some things weren't explained enough for me. Some of the minor plot points got confusing for a small amount of time, but that's it.

  12. Lol, I don't go to the movies that often but I do usually average one a day. I have a watchlist a mile-long and like to do comfort watches before bed during the week. It's just what I like to do in my free-time, I don't play video games.

I remember getting ragged on in the AP.net version of this thread for watching like ABCs of Death or whatever and those people can get fucked now lol. I feel like frequenting this thread is some kind of vindication, especially considering how amazing the Horror Thread on this site is.

I probably watch 60-70 in a year. Alamo season pass had me going close to once a week to the theater and then I’ll watch random stuff at home.

Honestly work has just murdered my ability to watch since I took over a sixth class for my medically absent mentor in November. There have been years where I've watched 300 movies a year. I saw exactly 5 in February.

In college I would do at least 10 a week but now after a long day of work I gravitate toward more mindless things.

What is the rate of first time watches for everyone?

Last year 119/155 were first time viewings for me

Looks like 15/18 are first time this year

I’ve been doing a lot of rewatches this year. Basically anything at home has been a rewatch.

Take arms, it'll all blow over Prestigious

Fall of 2022 to Spring of 2023 I was averaging like 2.5 movies a day but then I got back into video games and boardgames and I'm down to 1 or 2 movies a week, it was incredible seeing so many movies I hadn't seen before, I'd like to pick up the pace again but it probably won't be to that level again.

The last time I was unemployed (January 2021) I watched all of the MCU & Harry Potter movies (along with other stuff) so I think that’s the most I’ve ever watched in a month

I watched dragged across concrete and you can absolutely skip it. What a dumb, racist, right wing film that thinks it’s so much more clever than it is.

  23. Am I misremembering that the premise is a racist cop redemption story?

  24. Been watching about an hour of something each night before bed after taking my meds and dozing off shortly after. Usually something chill. I have Cat People on deck.

my refusal to watch movies in portions definitely hinders the amount of movies I watch
