The Cheshire Murders - 8/10

 

The Mist - 2/10 Lmao wtf, people seriously hyped this up??

Air - 8/10 If you are gonna do a hagiography, I appreciate including so many winks, FUN!

 

Air was fun? The trailer made it seem like they centered a black person's story on the white people surrounding them

 

The Mist is horrible. I'm sorry you had to watch it.

 

Was The Mist actually hyped up?

 

In my circles people definitely said good things about it being tense and scary and stuff and it's just a fucking joke.

 

Horrorheads fucking LOVE The Mist. It's often cited among the best King adaptations, which might not be particularly hard, but it's awful. The worst film I've ever seen without exaggeration.

 

The ending especially ruins it

 

World's Greatest Dad - 8.5/10
Bobcat makes some weird directorial choices here, but it is so funny and emotionally effective. And also just so nice to see Robin. Really special movie.

Swallow - 7/10
Not quite as effective as it was on first watch -- a bit drier and heavy-handed -- but it's a very unique psychological drama, and Haley Bennett crushes it.

Ambulance - 7.5/10
Legitimately some of the most insane directing and shots I've ever seen. Uncut Gems for Fast & Furious guys. Bay is a madman

 

Honestly the whole movie is garbage, bad writing, worse acting, looks like shit, but yeah, it's annoying that people latch onto the ending so hard just because it's shocking or whatever. Reminds me of The Strangers, which is a solid film, but almost exclusively remembered for its ending. That's why I actually preferred the sequel.

World's Greatest Dad was really funny which made God Bless America so disappointing.

 

The Mist is great fun.

 

I couldn't get through World's Greatest Dad. I hated it.

 

The Bible thumper character in The Mist made me want to put a hole in my TV, most infuriating character of all time????

 

If The Mist is the worst movie you've seen, I'm so very curious what else you've seen.

 

Suzume - 9/10 Hey, this really worked for me! Which is nice since I haven't really loved a Shinkai project since 5 Centimeters Per Second. Smidge too long, but love a road trip movie!

Glengarry Glen Ross - 8.5/10

 

Everyone is so good in that movie, but GOD Jack Lemmon is just the best.

 

oh he’s amazing. but then again everyone turns in a great performance like you said. really enjoyed this

 

That movie rules but it always makes me think of Zack and Miri make a prono.
