I needed somebody to reply with this.

 

This is my favorite LD album

 

I think I still like Rooms more but this is a strong 1B upon first listen.

Definitely above Wildlife and Somewhere

 

So is ROTH this site's majority fav?

 

I think we are as a community fairly evenly split between the last 3 releases

 

This is my favorite, just bc it suits my taste so damn well.

 

People can have an issue with it even if it is intentional

 

I’m not even saying I do, really, but if someone doesn’t like that choice, they are allowed that

 

Generally most things we agree or disagree with are us not jelling with someone’s intent, but the wording of the complaints mostly makes it feel like someone is thinking that either it wasn’t by mistake or that their preference supersedes the artists wishes.

 

I haven’t seen the posts of people of complaining, so I can’t comment on that, but the post that I quoted was kinda demeaning and framed it as if those with complaints about the mix are just too stupid to understand.

 

ROTH was my favorite until about two weeks ago.

To be fair though, I do not care for their first two albums. They just aren't for me.

 

I'm in the same boat as Jim

 

I really want to love this album, and there are a few tracks that I do love, but damn, the rest just is not doing it for me. Maybe my expectations were too high, I dunno

To be clear, I don’t mean to say I actively dislike it, just more that I feel kinda wherever about a decent amount. Like it’s just kinda there

I haven’t given this a full listen yet because I’ve been so preoccupied by Tame Impala, American Football, and Black Sabbath. I want to be in the right mindset for my first listen.

 

Uhhh I just had my first listen. I’ll save full thoughts for when I’ve had more time to process, but I think You Ascendant is already in the running for their best song

Glad I ordered the pink splatter and the book. This record rules can't get enough of it.

 

Saw a pic of the pink tourmaline splatter on insta and it looks even better than the mockups. Glad i went with that one

 

The bass on In Northern Michigan is some straight slowcore shit

It's my favourite by far but I always got the impression Wildlife was the overall favourite.
