Fucking Whatever is such a damn good EP

 

Kinda feeling like I’m in a similar boat. Really don’t enjoy either song. 2022 pales in comparison to the old version, not sure what the band is doing—it sounds like they’re playing a completely different song than what Anthony’s singing

 

The solo 2022 is definitely better but this version is still great. 2/2 so far for me.

I think I like this version slightly more than the solo one and Permanent Rebellion is even better! I can't wait for this! Three fantastic Anthony releases in one year!

 

I've never been a huge fan of Green's solo stuff, so I definitely like this version of 2022 (which I already thought was the best song on Boom Done) better

it's a cool bit but "The Beach Boys for the nihilist Tik Tok generation" told me it would suck ahead of time

 

I like Anthony's vocals on the two songs we've gotten from this so far, like them a lot, but the other four members are definitely the selling point for me. I also was never hugely into Circa either so

 

I basically never listen to music like this anymore but I am sooo pumped for this

 

I like Permanent Rebellion a bit more, but my excitement for this album remains super high. I hate the name though! Can never remember it. Apologies if it's been said already but, anyone know what the bands name means?

The timing couldn’t have been better for Green, as he himself struggled with the pandemic blues. “This situation was gifted to me,” he says matter-of-factly. “I was having a mental breakdown. I didn’t know how I was going to provide for my kids. I couldn’t go to therapy. I was losing my shit. I was so desperate for music, to write, play, and be creative as much as I could.”

“I was so stoked when Tucker hit me up. He and I have a connection that goes back to before I was even in Saosin,” Green adds. “All of the dudes in the band, at every point in my life that I’ve known them, were authentic people who went out of their way to be generous and kind to others and me.”

Green sent the rest of the guys an acoustic track he’d written called “2022,” originally intended as a solo offering. When they reworked it, the band told him, “here’s your song back, on LSD.” This description fits almost everything they did together, and so a band name was born. L.S. DUNES. The enigmatic moniker conjures its founders' expansive, broad, atmospheric energy and intentions.

 

So it's LSD/Tunes.

Everything AG says about this project is bittersweet because he’s obviously so excited about it, at a time when he was at a low, but it’s so hard to not read between the lines that Circa not being active put him in a bad place… but then again he was the one that called off the BSN tour. Wonder if that was a point of contention among the members.

 

I’m pretty sure this band/album has been in the works since 2020/2021. Anthony was on a podcast I believe early 2021 where he said he was working with Tucker Rule on something. This would be that something.

Not gonna read into whether or not Circa put him in a bad place. Seems like a complicated situation and I’m sure Anthony had this and his solo stuff planned for this year prior to Circa taking a break anyway.

 

maybe that means the demos for this were psychedelic back then. ive never taken lsd but thats what i think of in a musical context.

 

L.S Dunes releasing 2022 makes me more curious about why it was removed from Boom Done on streaming services.

 

maybe I'm just a lame geezer but I think naming your band after LSD is sorta dumb. a bit gimmicky reminds me of that terrible Chiodos side project DRUGS.

fyi I have partaken in psychedelics before

 

It's not a great band name but every band name sucks if you think about it for more than three seconds.

The only good band name, literally the only one, is The Callous Daoboys.

 

For the record it's my birthday so you've got to give me this one take

 

Pure Prairie League is the only good band name

 

Nah butthole surfers is legit the only good band name.
