Of course! This is from that session as well:

He also just did another one, I guess? Solo performance and all Instigator songs:

Damn, I could be with anyone just made me wish Kevin had more keys on his records. All the instigator songs were sick too though I'd have loved to hear those electric

I feel that. Tbh, I really love when Kevin goes more maximalist with his arrangements, I think that's why I favor that live era in the old KEXP vids.

Seeing him open for Manchester in Atlanta before Brother's Blood came out remains one of the best live sets I've ever seen.

I've seen him on every tour since then, and I have to say that the Bubblegum tour was probably my favorite.

I'd honestly never considered it before that video, he doesn't really go far beyond basic guitar bass and drums on his albums and so I never thought of it as something he might do. But damn it'd fit so well? Are there more vids with that kinda set up that you know of?

you're breaking my heart haha. That bubblegum tour was the first time I had the chance to see him and I missed it because I couldn't drive yet. P sure I was 16 at the time

Hmmm I'm digging around now bc I don't know any off the top of my head, and there's not too many I can find but p sure these are all the same/similar lineup:

And pretty much anything you can find from this performance is great, tons of people on stage basically the whole show:

Edit: I found soundboard recordings of the whole show, definitely recommend giving it a listen:

Never heard of Swivs, curious about them. Re: the mynabirds I've always wondered why no collabs with saddle Creek artists previously, they seemed to rub shoulders plenty and I'm p sure he's friendly with a lot of them. Which leads me to let me get a Hop Along feature

Anyone else have bubblegum as their number one kevdev record?

It's the only one of his albums that I like front to back. And I really like it a lot.

I need to go back and listen to his entire discography more but I just love the energy on this album.

It's up there, but Brother's Blood will always be my number 1. MTCM is also up there. Instigator would be a favorite too but the production sounds so off to me...maybe I just need to listen to it again. That's why I'm extra looking forward to the new reworking, the same way I was with HOPE coming out after COPE .

The drums got really buried on instigator and it takes away from the drive on a lot of the songs. The song writing is great but that's what holds it back for me. I still enjoy it a ton.

That's part of it for sure. Also I feel like the guitars sound very muffled/compressed at parts. If Instigator had production/mixing like Bubblegum or Bulldozer, it would definitely be my second favorite, because yeah the songwriting is pretty damn good.

Matter of Time is amazing! I was bummed the vinyl pressing didn't have the acoustic version of Matter of Time from the original release.

He hasn't made a bad record yet but Brother's Blood is my favorite and it's not close.

Honestly the back half of BB has never really clicked for me. Last time I saw him he played Tomorrow's Just Too Late and I didn't even recognise it. I keep meaning to give it another chance.

Where can I find that song? There's a song called matter of time on bulldozer, is it the same song?

"It's Only Your Life" is one of my all-time favorite KevDev songs. And "Murphy's Song" is devastatingly heartbreaking, but heartbreakingly beautiful.
