the only video reviews i regularly watch are on bangertv for metal albums

 

they're good for visual mediums but thats it

 

Sometimes when I'm bored I'll google "Artist - Album first reaction" and click on the most recent and find fucking goobers like this dude who jock Orange Fanta's style

 

My favorite genre of artistic criticism is "Dude who found out about hip hop in 2017 dancing around his room and calling things lit"

The cool thing about YouTube reviews is that you get to watch the worst, dumbest, most grating people spew their empty, inane bullshit to millions of views and like 416,918 thumbs up clicks

I have found some decent film video essayists but boy oh boy the most popular YouTube critics of music and film are husks of empty personality and shitty, superficial observations

 

Imagine calling something "lit" out loud to other people.

 

YouTube critic: “The production throughout this album is top notch, and the lyrics are pretty solid”

800,000 viewers: mm yes this is the unique content I crave that only you can deliver

 

Cop lights, flashlights, spotlights, Strobe lights...

there's a whole genre of youtube video that's hip-hop heads listening to metal songs for the first time

Yeah sure it's number one, but thats gotta be the lowest first week sales for him.

 

Good, hopefully next week Panic can take it down and we'll all just forget about this album and Kanye will realize that he can't just serve up something he cooked up in a week and have it go over as big as his last 7 albums.
