I mean, yes, people should expect a ridiculous rollout from kanye at this point and I’m not even gonna listen to this album but its annoying as fuck when other artists do it.

yeah i don't think it would be weird for fans to be annoyed at any other artist for bailing on a release date

It's not so much missing the release date for me as it is insisting it is still coming when it is... not. Like why did Kim or whoever keep saying "have faith"? If you're not gonna be done on time then at least just wait until it's done before making new promises. I mean I'm not like shaking my fist at the sky it's just annoying is all

  4. Lol Kanye is definitely the type of guy to keep telling his wife the album is done when it's not

People who want to hear the album? I don't get this take at all. If you don't care, why are you posting about it?

So hear it when it’s out? Until then consume one of a roughly billion other pieces of entertainment. Being hyped for an album coming out is one thing, acting like it’s some sort of real problem when it isn’t coming out as announced is another.

I don’t agree with this take bc I think the dynamic between artists and fans is more complicated than that. Okay yes fans shouldnt feel entitled to having records release whenever they want but I do feel artists should have some sense of professionalism and deliver on time if they’ve promised a deadline (like any other creative professional) and have some sense of ethical responsibility. Sure artists create the work and should have as much freedom to do so, but would not have a livelihood if it werent for consumers. Maybe im stepping into some sensitive territory here but also fans feel emotionally connected to art. Some people depend on art to help them cope- in that case, if an artist doesnt deliver on a promise, then whose to say the fan is “wrong” for being disappointed?

I’m sympathetic to this, but it’s also very hypothetical because the album might not actually help them cope at all, it might be bad etc. Anyway, I still think people are overreacting. That however doesn’t mean I think they’re stupid or whatever.

Any music or entertainment thread has people upset to varying degrees when a project misses its release date or is pushed back. Don’t know why we’d browbeat fans for being fans and having a human response to it.

why get upset over kanye not releasing an album when he said he would when you could instead get upset over anything he's said over the past two years

My take is that idk why anyone still wants to hear anything that comes out of this dude’s mouth still in 2019, regardless of when he says it’s dropping.

  17. Going from the original lyrics on "New Body" to an album the features no swearing and a corny song that name-drops Chic-Fil-A is, uhhhhh, certainly a move

It's gonna be super awkward when, in an era where the actual Christian hip hop scene (from Lecrae to Propaganda to even KJ-52) has better politics than evangelical Christianity, Kanye "Jesus Walks" West is the rapper who decides to weave GOP ideology into his music.

But, hey, I'll probably still download it & delete the songs that contain lines I ain't cool with.

yeah my main concern with the gospel thing is if he is seeking redemption from his sins and being a better person he actually has to do that

If he was using these songs to apologize for the absolutely reprehensible trash he’s said and done over the last couple years, that would be a good start. But none of the articles about the music have said that’s the case so he clearly doesn’t feel like he’s done anything wrong. Screw him.

  21. he's gonna use this album to bleat about how he's 'found god' or whatever the fuck when the only gospel he gives a shit about is the prosperity gospel and he uses religion as a shield for backing Trump. hardest fucking pass of all time

  22. lmao

As people walked out of the theater, their reactions to the music were palpably mixed. “I can’t believe it’s come to this shit,” one attendee said. “That was fire,” said another

It’s probably gonna be a split reaction, musically everything has sounded dope. Lyrically it isn’t my thing but I’ll wait for a finished version to see.

No Malice verse in CDQ though is gonna be awesome.

at this point Kanye could literally just record himself taking a shit and people would be like man this slaps what a genius

    beautiful and chequered, the end

from sounds of it he talks about how he hopes people give him "three strikes" and those comments last year being one of them. I get the sense he knows he fucked up/said fucked up shit but will never fully say sorry. He also claims right now he feels bad for naming an album yeezus of all things lol
