This begs the question, why does an artist such as Julien Baker release a Japanese version bonus track? Why Japan and not a US promotion? I don't know how it all works so I'm genuinely interested and willing to learn!

 

They always used to get some in favor of not having any shows, and still being willing to promote artists over there.

 

Also, I believe the US CD imports in Japan end up being cheaper than the Japanese versions. So they add a bonus track or two to the Japanese versions to encourage people to buy them.

 

I saw Paramore in 2009 with a five band bill. Was way too long. Can't even imagine making it through eight...

 

Not exactly the same style as Julien, but everyone should check out Tash Sultana. Another amazing female solo artist who takes loop pedals to a whole new level.
