You know what else is better than this film? The graphic novel Harley Quinn: Breaking Glass by Mariko Tamaki & Steve Pugh, which reimagines Harley as poor teenager taken in by drag queens, battling against gentrification. Just bought it today & am loving it. It's a way better alternate version of Gotham w/ far better politics.

I'm baffled by the notion of this being one of the worst of the year. It has problems but wow

All the conversation surrounding this movie, both high praise and strong condemnation, annoys me just because of how mediocre it really is lol. In the end, I don’t think it had a damaging message like people claimed, it just didn’t have anything to say. It also is not a masterpiece and I’m tired of hearing that word in conjunction with this movie. It doesn’t warrant so much buzz around it as it’s just kind of there. Joaquin is really good and that’s about it. It’s fine.

One thing that is really interesting to me about this movie though is that a lot of people I’ve met who love it are not typically into character driven art house movies. And while I’d be hard pressed to call this art house, that’s definitely what it wants to be. It’s like art house-lite. Anyway, my point, or question rather, is I wonder if these same people would like this movie if it wasn’t about the Joker (because it really doesn’t need to be) and also if, for some, it will sort of serve as a gateway for them to explore character driven dramas, which I think is a pretty hilarious concept.

A movie that doesn’t have anything to say but takes itself as seriously as this is up there for my worst of the year. I think this, Far From Home, or Yesterday are in contention for my worst I’ve seen this year.

I think Booksmart is my least favorite of the year. That’s controversial

Definitely not my least favorite but possibly most disappointing. I don’t think it was very good but I do think are are redeeming qualities.

Worst movie of the year was easily Annabelle but I didn’t expect anything good from that movie

Looking back, I didn’t see a lot in 2019 tbh. I hated Pokémon but like, it’s Pokémon.

I’ve only seen like 10 films from 2019 but Endgame was probably the worst thing I’ve watched all year regardless of release date. This is definitely second

Far From Home is better than this 'cause this didn't have Zendaya.

I should collate every movie I've seen this year that was released in 2019 and work out which was the worst.

I think the worst movie I watched this year was Wine County, that was such a disappointment with that amazing cast

I haven’t seen many movies this year either but was very disappointed in both Ad Astra and Midsommar.

  23. Uh this is the only movie I've seen this year so far.

edit: Oh and the Avengers one but that was forgettable. And Captain Marvel!
