Could've been two songs they would've had in their regular setlist but cut for potential time concerns- then played when they found they had extra time.

It's been like that the full tour to be fair, purposeful choice.

Caught the Glasgow show as well. Was slightly worried about the setlist beforehand given their recent US dates only included 2 Futures songs. But man this was almost perfect. Hearing Goodbye Sky Harbor, Hear You Me, 23 and Work within the same 20 minutes was heavenly.

Also was impressed that Blister had one of the strongest reactions of the night I felt.

Weird takes in here. "Night Drive" stays one of their most underrated songs and "The World You Love" is a perfect set ender.

Don't it feel like sunshine after all?

Feel like the encore is probably a nod to Futures 20 year anniversary without having to do it front-to-back

always very much enjoyed Futures barring a few clunkers (especially "drugs" and "23" which are JEW at their soppiest sorry) I have come to really enjoy this running order which combines stuff from this overall era, maybe my favorite JEW "release" now ha. "shame" is worthy but there's just no room for it in the flow:

    Side A: Futures / Just Tonight... / Pain / Kill / Work / Polaris
    Side B: Jen / Night Drive / When I Want / Disintegration / Closer

  7. Yeah we gotta shut this thread down until we can determine what is going on.

Keeping "Jen" and cutting "23" is certainly a take.

Someone mentioned Jen?! I will forever declare my love for Jen, one of my all time favorite JEW songs. Such a great song. Kbye

"Jen" is one of their very best "wham, bam" three-minute pop songs. Love the closing section.

"23" sounds like it belongs in a neverending One Tree Hill montage.

People mentioned the obvious but I also want to shout out to Nothingwrong, which is a jam.

Futures is not a “wham bam” three minute pop song album, though, which is why that song is not on it and could never fit. To put it on there fundamentally misunderstands what that album actually is.

Also, One Tree Hill had one of the greatest soundtracks ever, so you’re not really convincing me of anything!

“23” is their Cure influence coming through most strongly, and it’s brutal and beautiful. One of their 3 or 4 best songs.

I would argue "Pain" and "Nothingwrong" and the title track are all equally "pop" so

I had the advance that still had the song and I say it fits just fine. It's a collection of songs I enjoy listening to. I'd say the idea that an album can't have detours is incorrect.

  21. They made the right call in leaving it off. Sore thumb from the sessions and easily their worst bside.

We’ve definitely had this convo cycle before.

    Ok! You’re wrong, but ok!

Ok. I’ll say it another way: the album would be significantly worse if it was there.
