Damn, the solo on Shame is GOOD.

Damage would've been a natural followup to Futures

Chase This Light would've been, and was, the natural follow up to Futures.

The EP was the most natural follow-up ever. Seriously felt like we were getting a Futures bonus disc one year after the fact.

I think I like that EP more than Futures actually

If the EP had even four more songs as good as the first four songs, it would be the second best JEW album.

Yeah SOMST was a great follow up to Futures. If anything Invented would've been a great Futures follow up

I went through Damage earlier and thought it was pretty good. I Will Steal You Back is a perfect song. Invented is up next.

I like the EP but never thought it was a natural follow up to Futures. I can see them expanding but I wouldn't say it's a good bridge to Chase this light. I'd probably put the EP around Invented/Damage with the more mature feel.

The EP is great, though. Not a big fan of the remixes, though.

I think Invented is a pretty effective return to the Futures sound six years later. I don't think it would have been as good as a follow-up. I'm glad they went for a brighter sound on Chase and then wound back to Trombino to make Invented.

It seems like they alternate. Like, BA, CTL, and Damage are a bit brighter and upbeat, while Clarity, Futures, and Invented are more textured and slower

So get ready to be sad is what you're saying?

Really, though. That seems to be a fair evaluation.

Still need to listen to Damage more, though.

I mean, there's really no world where you can call Damage "bright," though. Haha

I mean, so does Invented. I think Invented is actually a much "brighter" and more uplifting record than Damage is. Even the upbeat moments of Damage pretty much pummel you. Invented as least has stuff like "Coffee & Cigarettes" and "Movielike" that feel a bit more hopeful. And the title track, for that matter.

I would love a weird hybrid of Chase this Light and Futures. Like, a dark poppy album.

I would take something much more pop-driven this time around. That would be fine with me.

I would love a super dark moody heavy JEW album to add to their already pretty diverse catalog.
