Let’s be real. Trying to recreate second 1 of the Futures record is like trying to carve Mt Rushmore on another mountain. Ain’t gonna happen.

I do wish they could have done the Futures bridge into the opening riff, but we did get it in The Phoenix Sessions teaser which was PERFECT.

 

i like this band a lot, maybe even love them, but i will never fully understand the way they are discussed on seemingly only this website

 

genuinely curious how that is? I must be part of that way?

 

I mean… what other sites at this magnitude exist where people come to talk about bands like Jimmy Eat World? It’s kinda become a niche interest.

Just finished the JEW chapter from the SELLOUT book. Only three chaps in but I’m loving it so far.

 

lol bleed american, futures, chase this light, invented, and integrity blues legit all have some of the best production ive ever heard of any albums ever. theyre also my favorite albums ever in general but the production across all of them is immaculate.

 

Invented is super underrated. Even I’m guilty of sitting on it for way too long before really getting to know it. It might be time to revisit it.

 

as I’ve always said, it came out my senior year of high school and I’ve always seen it as a coming of age type record so it was very much right place right time for me and has always been a very personally important record to me

 

I concur. A few years younger, but I remember getting my hours towards my driving permit while blasting My Best Theory on Alt Nation

Invented is top three

 

Even if Invented is in your top 3, I think we all know as a collective fan base Clarity, Bleed American and Futures would be called Top 3. I personally would have CTL up there, but if they did a Phoenix sessions round 2 I’m guessing it’d be to support a new album, I would expect BA and then I’d hope CTL or IB.

 

Lol I don’t give a shit about the collective fan base or whatever, clarity isn’t even in my top 5 which I’m sure sounds insane but I grew up with bleed American on so that’s what’s important to me

 

Bleed American was my first Jimmy album, and Clarity still tops it all day every day for me.

 

So you're saying Bleed American fills all 5 of your top 5 slots and Clarity comes in close at #6? I guess I can accept that.

 

Chase This Light is absolutely on the same level as the big three, and it’s my second favorite of theirs most days. “Dizzy” alone would probably put it in the conversation.

 

I feel the same way about CTL. It is the great counter part to Futures. Personally, I’d go Top 3 of CTL, Futures and BA.

This is me being super honest with myself. The high points of Futures are superior to Chase This Light, but overall, CTL is such a strong record. It was their first release I bought on release day.
