Jimmy Eat World is an American rock band from Mesa, Arizona, that formed in 1993. The band is composed of lead vocalist and guitarist Jim Adkins, guitarist and backing vocalist Tom Linton, bassist Rick Burch and drummer Zach Lind. As of October 2019, Jimmy Eat World have released ten studio albums, the last nine featuring the current lineup. source

I'll add it as soon as I figure out how lol

  7. New thread so I'll tell this story again: One of the most amazing live music experiences I've ever had was seeing the Futures tour (and therefore "23") on my 23rd birthday. I'll never forget that.

Yeah the Futures 10 Yr Anniversary show was one of, if not the best show I've ever been to. What made it even more special is the fact that they played in my hometown, at a venue I helped build.

From what I understand, the person who created it asked for all their posts to be deleted. When they deleted the post, it deleted the thread.

    Lame. Oh well!

Gonna have a JEW day I think.

I noticed this in the other thread: where's the love for SOMST?

SOMST is great. I think Disintegration is one of the best songs this band has ever done and I love Closer as well.

Yeah, SOMST is a dope EP. One of my very favorite EPs ever actually.

Agreed. I'm so excited that it was finally pressed to vinyl. Only took 11 years lol. I have the black variant, but that pink one looks amazing with the artwork.

Fuck, that reminds me that I gotta grab that on vinyl. This is one band whose discography I'm trying to own on vinyl, at least from Clarity onward. I already have Clarity, Futures, and Invented. Just need BA, CTL, Damage, and SOMST. I'll wait for Static Prevails because, while I enjoy it a little bit, it's my least favorite and it's expensive.

Stay On My Side Tonight would be a perfect EP if not for the remix. Yuck.

It was awesome to see them play 3 of those songs for their Encore to Futures.

The SP repress isn't too bad if you can find it on sale (which is quite frequently on Amazon & SRC). It was a goal of mine for years to obtain 1st presses of each JEW full length. Luckily, my brother gave me Futures on vinyl for Christmas back in 2005, but it was tough there for a while, lol. It took me the longest to find Bleed American. Three times I thought I was buying the Grand Royal gatefold 1st press when it turned out to be the European standard jacket press. Sellers just didn't know to note the difference most of the time. Whoever runs the JEW instagram regrammed my 1st press collection a while back, lol.

I agree on the remix, but I am highkey obsessed with Jim's track on Styrofoam's "A Thousand Words".

Chase This Light is such an impressive body of work. Especially in context of the great music that came before it and continued to come after it. I'm not sure how many other bands are as consistent as Jimmy Eat World

I absolutely adore Chase This Light. It is my number one feel good album along with CJR's Emotion. If I'm happy and I need to celebrate, I'll probably be listening to this.

This is actually really interesting to me because (and it was discussed a lot in the first JEW thread) this is such an emotionally exhausting album for me. If I listen to this all the way through, it's in the dark by myself crying into a plush meerkat

There's a lot of sad lyrics to such a bright upbeat album. Chase This Light was actually the album that got me into this band after listening to a few songs from Clarity, Bleed American, and Futures.

"Big Casino" plays into almost every single insecurity I've ever had. Great song that I love singing along to, but somedays it's straight up brutal haha
