I’d disagree, just too many bangers on TAYF and too few to follow

What a weird trajectory they’ve had. Things progressed logically for the first 3 albums, then New Again was an off kilter turd, their self titled had a few bright spots, Happiness Is had even fewer, and by Tidal Wave they’d basically turned into a late-00’s Against Me

  3. Or: There’s one good TBS album and it’s only ok.

Relistening to Integrity Blues for the first time in a while and realising that The End Is Beautiful was the best song on there after all. Probably wouldn't have been in my top five at the end of 2016.

TAYF is pretty fun, Set Phasers to Stun is the best song they ever made and then I don't really care about anything after that.

Had to bring these back because, while I think I've mentioned on here before that the chorus of Cautioners has an eerily similar melody to A Praise Chorus, I was listening last night and it hit me that they are literally two versions of the same song. Same key, nearly identical chord progressions across the entirety of both songs (intro, verse, chorus, bridge, outro), and the melodic similarities. I'm convinced the band decided to see how much they could get out of those ideas by going in two opposite directions.

Are we about to to do a Taking Back Sunday album ranking in a Jimmy Eat World album thread? Because that would be impressive.

Nothing will top the discussion about Nickelback in Integrity Blues thread.

I don’t have anything super productive to add to the discussion at hand right now but I’m listening to Cautioners rn bc of this convo and god this song fucking rules y’all lol. that song and My Sundown feel like the last remnants of the vibe of Clarity bleeding through and it brings me so much joy.

In addition to that cautioners, authority song, my sundown is the best closing sequence in their discog
