Finally! The guitar tones on clarity and bleed american are some of my favorites, the perfect mix of clean with distorition and echo. Cannot wait to watch this so I can play it on my jim adkins telecaster.

I'm in love with the ordinary

I remember an older video similar to this, where it's just them talking about those Fractal Axe-FX II boards that they use now. It was basically how they tweak everything to sound how they sounded on certain songs and albums. They just save the settings for every song from each album on a USB stick, load it onto the boards and every show has those same settings regardless of equipment. Something along those lines at least.

I always thought it'd be really cool if they released whatever settings they have on the USB sticks, so anyone could play any Jimmy song from any album and sound just like them, but obviously they wouldn't do that. I just remember thinking it was such a good idea, and probably has them worrying less about setting up the sound for a show, rather than just performing their best that night. Either way, they always sound fantastic, and I love going to their shows!

EDIT: Found it: Jimmy Eat World Rig Rundown Guitar Gear Tour

I guess I was half right, they use the Fractal Axe FX II XL rack thing to set up the RJM Music Technologies Mastermind GT/10 pedalboards.

As a Axe FX owner I wish they would do that. Other bands have, just got the actual presets for Zac Brown Band and Phil from Def Leppard shared his before. So JEW needs to follow suit! Would be so much fun to even have one song.

This is why I have always loved line 6, the ability to download and play those tones on the fly.
