This whole saga truly shows how untouchable these kinds of people think they are. He knew his past and could have stayed as EP making his insane salary but instead he’s such a asshole he had to hire himself as the new host and actually face some consequences. Glad it happened that way but truly mind boggling stuff

Truly amazing how all this could have easily been avoided if Ken Jennings had just not tweeted dumb shit

 

Bad jokes on Twitter should not be on the same level as other things. It doesn't actually reflect the person's opinions or how they treat people. I hope they reconsider Ken.

 

Regardless of whether or not his tweets were worth him not getting the job, all the reporting on the situation that's come out has said that he was going to be the choice and the tweets are what cost him the job. I'm not commenting on that either way, it's just a factual statement that this all would've been avoided were it not for Jennings' tweets.

 

I think it was less tweeting something ableist years ago and more that this year when it came up he wasn't particularly apologetic and defended his friend who said gross shit, and also the whole question of whether being good at a game makes you the right choice to host it personality wise
