  1. Congrats man! If my gf and I ever take that step it'd probably be "Cover Me Up" for us

He was incredible last night. One of the best sounding shows I’ve ever seen.

Semi-unrelated but Jason Isbell is the best follow on Instagram simply for his Stories of his daughter. The other week she was stomping around in Air Jordans singing "tip-toeing in my jordansssss"

I feel like not having the Petty covers on there is a missed opportunity. Hope there's an EP or bonus tracks or something. I'd pay good money for those.

I'm sure it sounds great, but that tracklist is kinda boring as someone who's listened to the last three albums a ton already

  15. Yeah that tracklist is super boring actually

I don’t own any Isbell on vinyl (yet) but the premise and art of this had me thinking it would be an easy first, until I saw the tracklisiting. Damn.

I mean, all the songs are great, but yeah, don’t really feel the need to pay $30 for this.

I have to agree. I'm a huge fan of Jason Isbell, and I'm sure these songs sound great, but that is a really underwhelming tracklist. I'm kind of left scratching my head that these are what he decided to go with for this.

Looking on the bright side here - any videos I've seen of them playing Super 8 have greatly improved the song over the album version. So there's that I guess.

Edited to add that I think its bumming me out a little not having any of his absolute gems from some of his earlier albums on here. His last few albums have been absolutely astounding but he's simply never put out on album without at least a few amazing songs on it.

The argument there, I think, is that those songs/albums are already represented on a live album.

True . True. I do have to say that a guy like him trying to narrow down which songs to pick for a live album is a little bit of an embarrassment of riches type situation. He just has so many good songs.

  21. Yeah but he played six nights at the Ryman and did whip out some old songs (even one or two from the seemingly forgotten self-titled * gasp *) so why not expand the track list a bit, make fans happier and probably charge more too? I for one would like to hear some recorded renditions of the pre-Sadler stuff with Sadler seeing as the last live album had Jason as the lone guitarist.

I have a Live in Washington DC bootleg from 2015 that I quite enjoy to listening to. The version of Elephant he played here is amazing. The whole thing is actually great.

    02. Stockholm
    03. Tour of Duty
    04. Dress Blues
    05. Flying Over Water
    06. Decoration Day
    07. Live Oak
    08. Alabama Pines
    09. Different Days
    10. Traveling Alone
    11. Codeine
    12. New South Wales
    13. Cover Me Up
    14. Relatively Easy
