Sirens is underrated. Admittedly I didn’t have the last few albums as a reference point when I first heard it, but I really like that album. A lot more than the first 400 Unit record, actually.

 

I haven't spent much time with any of the records before Southeastern. I do have Sirens on vinyl though

 

The first 400 Unit record is the sportiest, but it has some really incredible songs.

 

I can never sit through it. Some of the songs are pretty good but it has a bland adult contemporary sheen to it that loses my interest pretty quick.

 

I skip around usually. The closer is one of my top 10 Isbell songs though.

 

Wish he'd play some of the highlights from the S/T live more often

 

Also wish he'd bust out "TVA" occasionally still, or "Day John Henry Died"

 

I think “Streetlights” is my favorite, but I only felt that way after watching him play it live.

 

Yeah I loved Sirens and Here We Rest when they first came out, thought s/t was ok, but with the knowledge of what comes next, they're just nowhere near as incredible as the last three.

 

There's a demo of Elephant on Spotify now. Even some of the lyrics are different. I've listened to Southeastern 100+ times and have never seen it before. Strange.

It's great though, of course.

 

It’s on his Apple Music version. Really like the Harry Nilsson lyric over classic country songs.

That's my hometown festival and this is the last summer for a very long time I'll be living in KY so I'm super stoked on that lineup

 

I was in Louisville for Bon Iver in November and absolutely loved the city. Unfortunately this is a week after Eaux Claires so I just can't swing it.

 

Jason appears on a song on the new Tommy Emmanuel album that came out today. Amanda also has a song on there.

 

“If We Were Vampires” should have been up for Song of the Year.

 

Awesome Grammy wins though bummed they didn’t make the dang tv show

 

I’m still pissed that they didn’t televise Sturgill winning Best Country Album last year.

 

Saturday "If We Were Vampires" was my first dance wedding song. Sunday it won a Grammy. I'm not saying the two are connected, but I'm not saying they're not.
