First time I saw this I literally spit Honey Bunches Of Oats with Almonds all over myself.

 

Just watched all of S4 today. Very possibly the best season imo

 

"Mac and Dennis: Manhunters," "The Gang Solves The Gas Crisis," "Dennis Reynolds: An Erotic Life," and "The Nightman Cometh" are all-time for me. It's definitely a contender for best season. I think Season 5 edges it out though, personally. Season 6 is also a contender for best overall season.

 

I think Season 6 is the beginning of a dip in quality from the first 5 seasons of the show. It's still really good, but 1-5 were just so incredible that a let-down was inevitable.

 

I think season 7 is my favorite, maybe followed by 4, 5, then 9.

 

Fat Mac season was the worst.

 

It isn't the best season by any means but it has some really great episodes in it (specifically "The Gang Goes to the Jersey Shore," "Chardee MacDennis: The Game of Games," The ANTI-Social Network," "The Gang Gets Trapped," and "Thunder Gun Express").

 

Yeah, I think 7 or 8 is the worst season. But even 8 has fantastic episodes, like The Gang Dines Out.

 

I still maintain that the cold open to "The ANTI-Social Network," when they're at the nameless, signless gin bar, is one of the more underrated sequences in the series. The moment when the conversation breaks down into how much they hate gin/Dee for dragging them there is classic. Howerton's delivery of "I mean look, people are showing up to a bar that doesn't even have a sign, and serves only one old-timey disgusting drink that nobody likes. Goddamn I hate gin. Dee y-y-you bitch" gets me every time.

 

Fat Mac season is the worst only because it has what are by far the 2 worst episodes in the entire series, and I would argue the only 2 that are the unwatchable - Frank's Brother and How Mac Got Fat. The rest of that season is great though.

Most consistent show of all time. 2 bad episodes out of, what, 135 or something?

Agreed on "Frank's Brother (also easily my least favorite episode of the whole series). Disagree on "How Mac Got Fat," though. I like that episode.

 

Frank's Brother is the only episode that I've never rewatched

It's very easily the worst, but I've watched Frank's Brother again a few times and it's alright, some good jokes in there just a lot of bleh.

 

I actually thought that the most recent season (11) was the weakest. Not that it was bad by any means, it had some FANTASTIC eps. (The Gang Hits The Slopes, Mac & Dennis Move To The Suburbs and the two Hell episodes) I just found overall there was too many nods to some classic jokes. Like how they kept mentioning donkey brains, and how Dennis spoke about the implication when he was on the boat with Dee. This show doesn't require fan service, it's amazing as it is.

Very agreeable with people saying that 3, 4, 5 etc. are the best seasons. I loved 7 too. Fuck it's all so good, haha.

 

Jersey Shore ep is probably top 5 for me. Other than that, I can't really remember many episodes from that season..probably my least favorite by default for containing Frank's Brother.

On a different note, I know I'm late to the party, and this changes every year it seems, but Dennis really emerged as my favorite character last season.

 

I can't quite call season 4 the best, since it has the bed-shitting episode and the Liberty Bell one, both of which were two of the show's first ever bad eps. Completely awesome season otherwise
