This must be tracking for a hell of an opening weekend because it's split into three different days on Fantasy Movie League. They only do that for movies that are almost for sure making $100 million plus. Wonder Woman wasn't even split up.

The AMC website is weird for my local theater, some showings are sold out, some Friday showings are almost full, and some Saturday showings are completely empty

I will say as a (sorry, regretful, generally ugh) theater employee who just saw the schedule for new movies, we are definitely expecting way more people for It than the entirety of the past week or two (which were pathetic).

Yeah, they planned it perfect, with audiences starved from two weeks of no major movies.

Movie was pretty good. The cast of kids was very solid. Much funnier than expected. Skarsgard was...okay. They add these stupid modern horror elements to him, like he shakes super fast when he runs and the camera tilts when he's in the center of the frame that are just annoying and don't work well with the movie's retro feel.

    Have you read It?

If so, was this at least a better adaptation than the 90s mini-series?

Re-watched the first half of the mini-series last night. Can't wait for this.

That really bothered me in the trailers and was hoping it was just for the ads, not actually how it looked in the movie. Bummer

Never read the book, but I'd say it will likely age better than the miniseries. The one thing that has on this is Tim Curry. You can beat his charisma.

The 90s mini-series might not age well, but I still love it.

I've read the book over the span of the last year and watched the miniseries the other day. And ya know, it may be due to the fact it's 2017 and I didn't watch It at the time so it's shelf life certainly has expired, but I didn't care for Tim Curry. He's just so goofy?

But granted, a 1990 horror based around a clown certainly won't do much 27 years later for a 23 year old person lol. I'm sure if I was 7 in 1990 and watched it I'd have a different opinion. That's why I'm so amped for the new one!

I'll wait until I see this, but from a lot of what I read, Skarsgard supposedly does a better job at portraying Pennywise than Curry.

I feel like Curry's Pennywise is this iconic horror character for a lot of people because they watched the miniseries when they were young, so he's memorable.

It appears that from the trailers Bill has no stutter, is that true?

Not at all. He stutters almost every time he talks.

I'm not a huge fan of the old miniseries, and I had a typo there - you can't beatbox Curry's charisma, which is what makes the character so great and memorable. This version of Pennywise feels like something out of a Blumhouse movie.
