The Russian loss of life is absolutely fucking horrendous. The casualty numbers are staggering, and the stories about the medical care - or really lack thereof - that the Russian soldiers are receiving are horrific and appalling. Human suffering on an almost unimaginable scale. When put together with the huge numbers of people who have left the country recently it's an enormous tragedy for Russia.

 

Well, to be fair, I don't think Ukraine would be firing air defense missiles if Russia weren't invading them and hurling missles at them themselves lol

We're trying to point out deliberate dangerous misinfo being spread and everyone keeps bringing up how Russia started the war in the first place

 

I don't know about anyone else, but I wasn't talking about Russia starting the war in the first place, I am specifically talking about Russia launching this particular missile / rocket attack that was likely meant for Ukrainian civilian infrastructure that Ukraine tried to shoot down with it's air defense and seemingly accidentally hit Poland.

There was misinformation coming from Ukrainian leaders but I don't really see why anyone serious would immediately jump to definitively taking their word for what has happened at that point in time in what was clearly a messy and confusing and still unfolding situation. That's just as silly as jumping to accepting Russia's version of events at that same point in time. I actually think Western leaders like Biden were very careful and deliberate with their language and with the information they put out. Outlets like the Associated Press immediately running with the story about Russian missiles striking Poland though were grossly irresponsible and hugely dangerous for the entire world really.

as far as “deliberate misinfo” is concerned its a pretty bad attempt at it considering the U.S. and then the rest of NATO came out less than 24 hours after it happened and said it wasn’t Russia’s missile.

 

Well Russia is 100% to blame for all that's happened since February 24th, so yes Ukraine absolutely is the good side, just like how the Allies were the good side in WW2 against the Nazis

No they aren’t. Recall the ceasefire that would have gone through in April if not for western leaders interfering. Ukraine has been a corrupt country, littered with Nazis and Nazi sympathizers, for decades. Take off the blinders. The world is not black and white.

What were the conditions of the ceasefire out of curiosity? Were they reasonable?
