FUCKIN SAVAGES IN THAT FUCKIN BOX Prestigious

The vine sequence is right up there with the sled chase in Jack Frost as the worst chase sequence of all time

Now that I’ve seen them all I’d like to go back and probably rewatch after the new one comes out and see if I can appreciate the older ones more. I didn’t dislike them, they just didn’t grab me like crystal skull did. Maybe it was the fact that obviously it was shot a lot more recently. But also I felt like even with my sound system on, raiders and temple of doom didn’t sound great either. It was hard to follow the dialogue without captions and then once the action started it was way too loud

It might have helped that I was cooking during this part so I was kind of watching over my shoulder

Crystal Skull is not nearly as bad as the internet makes it seem. It’s still the worst of the 4 though. Shia cosplaying as Fonzie remains bad.

My biggest issue with Crystal Skull was the aliens. There’s just a huge difference in realism for me between sacred relics and spaceships. It’s the same reason why the History Channel sucks now outside “The ___ That Built America” (mostly the food one but the toys is fun too).

Good guy, but a bad dude

Aliens weren’t the issue for me. But I also don’t hate the movie nearly as much as the internet does. It has great moments. The chase scene on the motorcycle early on was genuinely great imo

To be fair, they’re actually interdimensional aliens and not space aliens

How are we critiquing aliens and letting magic arks and cups slide lol

I don't really care about the aliens, but I do think it's weird to pretend its not different than the first 3 movies.

Temple of Doom is as removed from the other two.

They all revolve around historic artifacts that may actually be endowed by the divine power their lore suggests, so not really.

But like I said earlier, it's not really about that it's about the fact that the first 3 established that this world is homage to 1930s adventure serials, and it was jarring for audiences to be thrown into sci-fi B movie homage.

Maybe because I saw them all back to back for the first time it wasn’t jarring for me. To me they all felt like they were cut from the same cloth. But different strokes I guess

It just feels more grounded when Indiana is chasing terrestrial artifacts that most of us have heard of. Not aliens.

we've seen the shadow of the axe before Supporter

Somehow I completely missed the fact that Mangold directed this.

Wtf is up with Indy, he witnesses extraordinary events of the supernatural over and over again and it doesn’t seem to affect him at all

They closed their eyes, so technically he has plausible deniability.

Archaeology is the search for fact... not truth. If it's truth you're looking for, Dr.Tyree's philosophy class is right down the hall.

    Fight the long defeat.

His stubborn nonchalance, for all he's seen, really is extraordinary.
