Just gutted about this. Not sure what else to say. An immense talent and a genuinely good guy, gone way too soon.

  5. His portrayals of Thurgood Marshall, Jackie Robinson and T’Challa (I need to see the rest of his films) solidify him as one of the greats. The fact that he chose to tell momentous Black stories while fighting through cancer isn’t only brave, it’s heroic. This is utterly heartbreaking

  6. I’m so sorry, cancer is horrific. Here for you

Absolutely and utterly devastating. I'm glad he lived long enough for the world to know and appreciate his talent. I'm gonna have to watch a bunch of movies.

    I remember this one too

  12. My mom survived stage 4 colon cancer and I lost my grandmother to it. Cancer is such a fucking bitch. I watched my mom cry and cry and go through so much physical and emotional pain. The weight loss, the depression, the anxiety. Some days she would be too weak to even walk. And this man not only went through all of that but managed to be a brilliant, gifted storyteller and a beacon for black culture. We really don’t appreciate people until they’re gone and that’s how I’m feeling right now. Such an incredible person and actor. This one really stings.

This one really sucks. I'm so happy that he was able to make these last few years so special, but it's also so heartbreaking to know the best was probably still yet to come. What a terrible loss. RIP.

  24. 2020 has been so emotionally draining. I can't imagine how difficult this year must be for black people. Losing Kobe Bryant, John Lewis, and now Chadwick Boseman, not to mention all the non-celebrity victims of police brutality, the toll all of that must take on mental health.
