  1. Okay... The Summoning is the one for now. I didn't know I was craving this much sludginess.

I’ve seen the album art more times than I can count, it’s about time I check them out. Just finished this Hum record so I’ll throw it on now

  5. Yeah Failure is great and I recommend their newer albums too. It's a shame the latest felt lowkey due to releasing it as three separate EPs. They managed to expand on the Fantastic Planet sound, while giving them a distinct feel, all while sounding like they never left. That's how you pull off a comeback.

the whole album is great, but if I could posit my opinion a bit: I think the latter portion is by far the strongest, so don't give up if it's not your thing at first. godspeed

Failure are, strictly performance wise, easily a top 5 live band I’ve ever seen

Not to pile on the Failure tangent, but... their last one in 2018 is the best post-long hiatus record I've ever heard. It's literally as good as Fantastic Planet while being completely different. You really can't do comebacks any better than what they've pulled off.

Inlets is only growing on me so far, and I think it's going to get unanimous praise, but it's clearly much safer stylistically than what Failure pulled off.

FWIW, everyone into Hum should check out the Shiner LP that was mentioned earlier... yet another 20-year comeback that doesn't disappoint at all: http://shinerkc.bandcamp.com/

Hilarious to think what fans of this sub-genre would've thought back around 00-02, after these bands had died off prematurely, if you'd told them all 3 would be going hard 20 years later

people: Hum are making a new album! I wonder if they will expand on the more mellow aspects of their previous sound, since they’re 20 years older

  20. Does anyone have the DIH repress? Probably going to pull the trigger, but that $47.50 price is tough for me

  21. Where you see it for that much?

honestly don't really love DIH but YPAA and Elektra 2000 are extremely my shit

  23. Oh man, I think DIH is my favorite. One of two CDs I played over and over in my first car. "Apollo" is beautiful
