I'm reading Fire and Blood for the first time and im just getting into Jaehaerys reign. The book is great.

I think the initial conquest would be great to see on screen as well.

Kind of understand this logic a bit more. Trying to show that maybe Rhaenys is the person who should have been the leader after Viserys died.

Thinking about all these awesome characters that have had badass moments that people have liked and how they're like basically all gonna die during this war is crazy haha.

But also I just remembered another time/age thing....The eventual ruler that ends up on the throne is supposed to already be like 10-12 years old when the war ends, but was only a toddler as of last week. WTF are they gonna do there?

I went a looked through a bit of it. Mostly what I see is people saying how tone deaf it was in regards to the common folk. Which like yeah but all of the main characters in this show don't give two shits about the common folk.

The one thing from Twitter that I am in agreement with is why is Syrax so small in this teaser? Lots of speculation this is a repurposed shot/VFX from earlier in the season but you can see the crown on Rhaenrya's head. Also people saying this is Jace and Vermax.

 

lol yep i've been thinking the same thing I've been watching some scenes and thinking " wow like only like 4 major characters and a handfull of minor supporting characters shown so far end up surviving this war". Even more don't make it past a few years after the war. Like i've been playing a game in my head while watching counting how many doomed characters are onscreen at a time, and a lot of times it's every single character in a scene.

Yeah and with the Aegon/Viserys age thing i thought was weird too. When i saw how young they were i initially thought they were doing something funky with the timeline. I guess if you age them up 2-3 years by the end it'll make more sense.Major spoilers as stated above

 

It was deleted from Reddit but someone posted a “leak” for the final episode that has it ending with Jace meeting Cregan instead of the initial leaks (which up until episode 9 were mostly right) that has it ending with everyone learning the news of Luke’s death

 

Was there anything we were supposed to pick up on (symbolism?) when the guards(?) were trying to close the front doors and Otto kept yelling for them to open them? were they trying to close them for a reason? I can’t remember why people were leaving, it was before the dragon came up, right?

 

i doubt it ends with jace literally meeting cregan, as i feel the casting would have leaked by now, but i feel like it’ll end with him arriving at winterfell, giving them time to cast by 2024 or whatever

 

people were fleeing after the dragon came up and Otto starting yelling to open the doors, not sure why the guards were closing them.

 

i mean they were like a football field away haha, i just took it as them not hearing otto in the commotion

 

Yeah I could totally see them getting the news and grieving and etc, and then it's like "Well what about Jace?" "he's on an important dipolmatic mission...in the North." and then we get a shot of him flying Vermax as the camera swings around behind to reveal a snowy surrounding Winterfell, with the old House Stark theme kicking in to end it. Give everyone that shot of nostalgia from GOT, so they get the double whammy of the heartbreaking death and GOT nostalgia to suck them back in for Season 2

Yeah my bet is that we get a tease of Starks/Winterfell/Pact of Ice & Fire subplot but we won't actually see Cregan until season 2. < potential finale spoilers

 

maybe to trap her and the dragon inside?

 

Yeah I assume it was to try and prevent her from escaping, meanwhile Otto knows like uhhhhh no please please just let her leave lol

Yeah i was confused if it was panic on their parts or it was Daemon loyalists in the Goldcloaks trying to fuck the Greens too.

 

I was a little confused at first with the Hill of Rhaenys being the site of both the Dragonpit and King's Landing's main Sept. The Sept of Remembrance was the main sept in King's Landing, which was on Rhaenys' Hill until it was completely destroyed by Maegor I with Balerion during the Faith Militant Uprising and the Dragonpit was built in it's place but i am guessing in show universe maybe it's placeholder sept that was there before the Sept of Baelor was built decades later? < book spoiler.

Also Rhaenys fucking shit up on the hill named after her badass dragonrider ancestor who she was also named after was a nice touch now that I think about it.

Last night I was doing a quick refresher and flipping through Ice and Fire and goddamn, there is so much story between where we started HotD and when GoT starts. Like, I knew that of course but had forgotten alllllll the reigns and whatnot.
