Flo Milli is about the only recognizable name on there and I tried to get into her awhile ago but wasn't very impressed. People seem to go crazy over her though.

    hey you lil piss baby

At least half of those artists have had or have been featured on sizeable hits over the last 12 months (Morray, Iann Dior, Coi Leray, 42 Dugg, Pooh Shiesty). A few names I've never seen before (DDG, Toosii) and a few I know by name only (Lakeyah, Rubi Rose). It is definitely representative of what has been bubbling up over the past year. No one seems an obvious star like other recent picks DaBaby, Rod Wave, Polo G, or Meg but a handful of them seem potentially on the cusp.

Considering how much noise the UK hip hop scenes have been making, I'm surprised to see it completely unrepresented. Someone like Pa Salieu 100% should have factored in there. Also, just because I've been playing the tape a ton, and since he had a decent hit with "Deep End Freestyle" last year, I'm surprised there's no Sleepy Hallow.

Sometimes I wish we had some actual young people in this thread lol

I love Flo Milli, Morray is also sick and I've never heard of the rest so I feel very out of touch

  14. Yeah MIKE’s coming on a Monday, should be a great start to the week. Excited to give it my full attention for nearly a week before all the other new music Friday releases

Very hyped for that MIKE. The new Backxwash is out on the 20th, which is curious about too.

    That's unfortunate.

EDIT: I was referring to Logic, but could also apply to Travie McCoy too.

Gym Class Heroes were pretty big for me getting into hip-hop, and I am sure there are many others like me as well. Retrospectively, I now know that Travie isn't really that great of a rapper, good but not great, but I still think there are enough gems throughout their discography that I'd call myself a fan.

The fact that they were so ingrained in FBR and the pop-punk/Warped scene really did expose a lot of young kids to hip hop, and that in itself is pretty cool.

Plus, I still a big on the idea of a full band hip-hop group. Aside from The Roots and Jurrasic 5, they feel like the next most well known which is kinda crazy. Why don't we see more full band hip-hop groups? I LOVE when rappers have full bands for their live sets, would love to see it incorporated more into the genre. Also feel free to give me recs in this zone, if there are good ones

I actually didn't mind Gym Class Heroes back in the day but I always associated them more with the alternative/rock scene than I ever did hip-hop, despite the obvious crossover.

Yeah, they totally were much more in that scene and barely part of the rap scene itself.

I don’t think I ever listened to them really, so what you guys are saying makes sense, because at that time I had absolutely no connection to any kind of alternative/rock scene
