New Flatbush Zombies EP is really good, it's definitely an EP that actually feels like a short project instead of just a short collection of random songs

The new Polo G is great. The new Gunna didn’t do much for me though.

If there’s one thing about hip hop (and probably sneaker culture) that I’ve never got on board with, it’s basketball. NBA Jam was fun on the Mega Drive and I collected so many NBA baseball caps when I was about 12, but the actual game itself has never interested me at all.

There’s probably sooooooo many basketball references in rap that has just completely gone over my head. I had no idea who Iverson was before that awful post malone song haha

I was really into basketball in 1996-1997 and then I stopped watching sports

I was the right age when the Bulls were dominating the world and I loved every second of it, but post Jordan I never gave it much attention outside of the playoffs/finals.

Yeah I dont watch sports AT ALL so p much any and all references go over my head. Doesn’t bother me too much but if it’s incessant then it’s actually a turnoff

My elementary school and junior high gym teacher was a Bosnian refugee who used to be on their national team, so we played a lot of basketball. Then when I was a teen I got into the culture around it too because, well, I basically got into anything associated with with Hip Hop lol I don’t watch a lot of games though, way too much of a hassle when you’re in Europe.

A.I. is a cultural icon even beyond the sport though

What else did he do apart from basketball?

I mean his fame transcended basketball because of how he carried himself. He was definitely what you could call a style icon. Many would say his influence in that regard was even bigger than his athletic achievements. You’re from the UK, right? Think Beckham but less corny and for basketball.

One of my favourite Hip Hop moments from the last decade was Pusha T acting like a little boy when he met A.I. lol

Was just looking him up and looks like he was most influential during the mid 00's? Which, as i've probably mentioned too many times before, is when I was about as far removed from mainstream hip hop as possible. Sole, Dalek and Sage Francis weren't rapping about basketball haha
