People here have very different tastes which is really cool as the genre is so diverse compared to other genres where everyone sounds the same pop punk

 

How about we wait at least 5 to 10 years before we throw out legendary

 

Idk Summertime 06 is only 3 years old

 

I guess, but maybe in 20 years it won’t be, it’s hard to say. 808 probably will be because it was the beginning of something.

 

Wasn't GKMC considered a classic by 2015 lol

I used to fight this then TPAB came out

....which in 20 years will just be another great Jazz rap album in a long list *runs*

I am just going to exaggerate everything like i still do

 

Probably a top 5 album of any genre for me. Seeing him perform most of it live in a small venue made me love it way more than I already did when it came out.

 

I have a particular attachment to GKMC as it was the first hip hop album that I loved front to back.

And It's still my favourite Kendrick album

 

I will feel bad for anyone who tries to downplay 808’s until the day I die.

 

GKMC or MBDTF as an entryway to the genre still baffles me

 

Yeah sometimes I forget how old I am lol

 

The storytelling on GKMC really captivated me more than any hip hop album I heard before it

unless you count me being a kid growing up with g funk everything

 

First hip hop album I remember buying was Golden Grain from Disturbing Tha Peace. I have not listened to it since the year I bought it lol.

I do remember being disappointed because it wasn’t a solo Ludacris album, just something he was a part of.

 

I’m 28 and started obsessively acquiring rap albums of all eras when I was 11, so by the time GKMC came out I already felt like an old head lol
