I don't get what's absurd about someone liking a lesser known rappers album more than a mainstream rappers album but ok

In all honesty the best mainstream hip hop album of the year is probably Beerbongs and Bentleys

 

Both Saba and Phonte gotta be up there I think

Tierra Whack too but I feel like the one minute thing doesn’t suit the songs very well

 

Tierra Whack is one of my favorites of the year. Saba is up there.

 

Freddie, Drip Season 3, Slime Language, Beast Mode 2, Stuck, I Am You, SR3MM, and Astroworld are probably my favorite hip hop releases this year.

I Am You might just be at the top for me.

 

Tierra is so good

 

The Wolf of Grape Street is still the best

I definitely get why it’s not spoken about as much given the length, but I will ride for it all year. For an album of its length, I’ve listened to it front to back a surprising amount of times.

 

It’s definitely been a year packed with “pretty good” releases. Nothing has like REALLY blown me away.

 

Haven’t listened to either of the last Gibbs records, I’m sleeping

 

Yeah, nothing as legendary as Beautiful Thugger Girls, Luv is Rage 2, Big Fish Theory, Teenage Emotions this year

 

GANGIN, Wolf of Grape Street, Big Bossin Vol 2 , Freddie, Ephorize, the Big Chang Theory, Porter 2 Grape and TA13OO are my favourites so far this year

 

Definitely another major one, but a slight notch below those others for me. Seeing him play the songs live really gave me a next level appreciation for the album.

 

Oh damn I totally forgot about Big Bossin 2. Payroll is so good

 

Big fish theory, luv is rage 2, flower boy and saturation trilogy were all the same year like damn

 

yeah last year we were blessed

 

That Nipsey album is pretty cool

 

Also the Gavlyn album is great

 

Luv is Rage 2 is good but I’m not sure I could even say it was legendary

 

I feel super out of touch with this page because no one has mentioned last year's Open Mike Eagle record yet but Lil Yachty is considered a top pick of 2017. I'm not talking shit. Tastes are just radically different.

 

That Yachty album was really bad to me but like you said lot of radically different tastes in here
